    x mag informal poll

Ok as the title says im looking for opinions and some info. First im wanting to redo the colors on this thing as it has several scratches and 1 or two anno defects in it. First im strongly considering gold plating it and wanted some opinions on that as to how it holds up compared to anno. If I were to anno it, I want something unique, very unique, so any suggestions? Next, whats your opinion on the drops I have in the pics or should I go with out(I do usually play remote)? Last, for now, I am looking for some unique detents for it. Any one have any or can suggest some? Now to the pics.

Instead pf anno/platting try hydrographics, for a on/off I would go with a bleed type, as for detents the stock ones works great or you can go with killer detents...

Looks like the lines flow in the first pic. But the flash hides the lines in the second pic. So i don't think it would be a EuroX breech.

its a cnc i believe, the lines do match up. Plus it came from tuna. no detents tho, but I did have a spare from another mag and cocker i have, im just looking for some thing that looks different. Dont want a big gaudy one, but a cool design if some sort. No one has info on gold plating?

id say get a drop forward done in the same color, just in case you ever want to use one. bufor me i would find a more unique drop forward, flames forward are ok but not the best looking in my opinion. i would really look at the hydrographic option or even powdercoating. seem like both will hold up just as good or better then ano. someone on here has a white mag done in powder, very very sick looking.

im kind of leary about the hydrographics. I dont like the way you see the seam lines on it. Powdercoating is something I will reasearch some more. So no one likes the gold plating idea? The guns I have seen done like that look fantastic and the guy im talking to swears they wear no different from anno, but Im still worried about the wear of it.

                            gold plating huh?
                            well then...

Met that guy at SPE 07. Could see the bling from across the staging area. Was real sharp looking. Said the gold plating cost him about 200$...maybe a bit less. Which as far as I can tell might be cheaper than some annos (no idea, I'm happy with stock colours for now).

I'm only guessing that the gold plating might scratch easy, that would be my only worry doing such a thing...but man was it purdy.

Gold plating is not a good idea if this is a gun you play with regularly. It is very thin (thats why it isn't that expensive) and very soft relative other finish options. At best you'd want to highlight a few parts with it - but def not the whole gun.
