    AGD Prototype Delrin Bolt

if i remember right, this is a pre-production prototype model of the level 10 bolt. i remember tom, or some one along the lines, stating somewhere that he tried to do a delrin bolt and had AGD pride test a few prototypes. however it is not a full delrin bolt. it should have the steel back with the steel inside stem, much like a standard bolt. but the delrin is an outside casing to the bolt which made the bolt light. however the delrin never held up to AGD standards because of the constant friction and forces from the return springs, so the idea was scrapped.

of course this is what i remember hearing like years upon years ago out at paintball Sams when AGD Pride was testing lots of new and cool stuff.

can AGD or some one in the know fill me in?

I dont think it had the low force movement of the LVL 10, or the ability to vent like the LVL 10. I think it was just a lightened version of the lvl 7 bolt. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, that was a few years ago, and I didnt pay much attention to it, since it was scrapped and the LVL 10 came around.

If it's sitting on it's end and not falling over, I would have to agree with the Lvl 7 idea.

correct. It was the "superbolt". Lightened version was pretty much it. I think a reason it dissolved was chipping on the bolt end...and was right before level 10 came out.

Sorry for the off topic question. To cut on weight, AGD couldn't just produce a shorter version of the bolt? I mean, as long as it clears the breech, it'S all good right? A bolt couldn't have 1" length to clear the breech and compressed spring? Of coarse that means that the valve would have to sit deaper in the body to compensate for the shorter travel.

The spring they used when compressed was still too big, or at least i think it would be, then again i could be utterly wrong, but i thought it was something like an inch when fully compressed, and it probably wouldn't reach that point in normal operation.

Besides, the level 10 is like what, an ounce? i think they did it right with that.

I had three of them...It was a bad design

The first one I bought (for around $70) The next two were replacement after the bolt would disintergrate in short time. TK later sent me one of the first 100 Level 10's to try out...I still have it in my Emag some 7 or-so years later.
