    Autococker Trilogy to pump?

I used to love mech autocockers and always loved the way they shoot, sound and feel. My first ever "high end" gun back in the day was an Autococker that I sold long ago when I got out of paintball for a while.
I was wondering if the little cheapo trilogys were worth say, 50 bucks to play around with? I know they're not nearly as upgradeable but really it would just be a backup gun and I'd love to snatch up one of the little 20 to 30 dollar pump kits to switch in and out when I feel like it.
How viable do you think this would be? It would probably stay in pump mode 95% of the time just for fun. I'd toss a little co2 tank on it and a tiny hopper for sneaking around in the woods.
My thought process was that I don't really need a high end cocker and don't want to spend the money and I want a pump to play around with so the trilogy would be good since I'm not going to be using the dumbed down pneumatics on it anyway.

No problem with that what so ever

If your gonna leave it a pump all the time it'll be perfect. Its also a cheaper way to go now a days with the little agglets buying every 80 dollar cocker and putting a 30 pump on it to try and flip it for 300.

t0nnn and I both separately bought the psychoballistics superbolt and converted them to pumps. We bought them as possible autococker markers, but after reading his and others' experience with them and inspecting the pneumatics, mine went straight to a pump. I'm not sure how you put a pump on that trilogy 'front block' though.

Mine was just for 'pump days' that they have at our field on occasion. While it works well enough, it reminds me why I love semi's. It also has a 'feature' that I never had to deal with on my sheridan piranha or phantom and that is holding the pump forward when you shoot. Maybe I'm missing some mechanism or stiffer spring, but I miss having a bolt that stays closed when I shoot. Probably just something I need to get used to, but I don't play with it that often.

There's a specific pump kit you have to buy for a Trilogy. I think you can get them brand new for about 30 bucks. It's extremely easy to throw one on.
I found refurbished trilogy sports for around 50 dollars not counting shipping. I had also considered one of those superbolts and recently found one of the older Psycoballistic Lightning cockers on ebay fairly cheap.
It just seems like a decent way to get a cheap pump as a backup gun and to just play around with.
As far as having to hold the pump thing forward to fire that sounds really annoying. Do all cockers do that?

You can get refurbished Sport one's for fifty, but a Trilogy Comp. or Pro will probably be more.

              Trilogies aren't actually that bad.

They don't have the fit or finish of the hand-builts of yesteryear, but they are lighter and less prone to tuning issues.

The stock frame is ugly, but functional.

Get one and throw a pump kit on it. They are nice, light and inexpensive.

I'm hoping someone will tell me "no".

I don't see how to avoid it without a stiff spring. I thought about making a ball lock bolt like the sheridans, but that adds another 1/4" or so to the pump stroke. It works really well with an auto-trigger, but I don't have one.

I guess you get used to it. Other than that, it's fun. Right now, mine is over-kill. I put my old 3k flatline and a 200 round hopper on it. It can be a lot of work to play rec ball with the speed-ball guys. I haven't been able to change my play style back to pump yet.
