Isn't he the new owner or CEO or something like that?Originally posted by FreakBaller12now if only our boy dave zupan showed up.
I'm curious, now that the whole SP debacle is over, why doesn't AGD make E/X mags now?[Something Cool is Here]

Money, as i recall that was the main reason, the whole SP thing was a minor factor from what i remember.Originally posted by WARPED1Isn't he the new owner or CEO or something like that?

Understood. It's too bad, the Xmag was a start in the right direction to "mainstream". If AGD got a little capital to do a run of Xmags, maybe they'd pick up business.Originally posted by snoopay700Money, as i recall that was the main reason, the whole SP thing was a minor factor from what i remember.[Something Cool is Here]

Yeah, honestly if they had been able to stay in and if Tom had wanted to stay in the business the way mags were going the next incarnation would have blown us all away i think, and i wish that it could have seen the light of day beyond concept, i mean i love mags but compared to what they could be they're very big, and i think Tom was going to fix that from what i read. I dunno, AGD isn't dead by any means, but it's sad to see them out of the mainstream when they started to get back into it.Originally posted by WARPED1Understood. But yeah, X-mags are expensive to make, they would need quite a pretty penny to even think about doing a run of X-mags, but i'm sad to say i think that gun is dead. On a side note this one guy that lives on my floor in my dorm was talking to me about paintball and he seemed to be very mainstream as far as what he uses, but he said his field had a warped x-mag that he loved and he said that that was the one marker he would spend over a grand on if he could afford it.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.

A lvl 7 classic mag was my first "high end" gun. I'n 1992 the 2 most popular guns were the Automag, and the Autococker. I played many tournies at Survival NY in Plattsburgh. That was Jerry Brauns field, he's the guy who started PSP, the NXL too I think.[Something Cool is Here]

Why is it that new companies can start with next to nothing and become big, popular, well known and sought after by a lot of people, but an established company with a good reputation, revenue stream and established customer base can't do the same? IMO it's due to a lack of effort and interest in growing the business. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Precisely. New companies like DP are making it because they are enthusiastic and energized, and they're ready to make leaps forward as far as R&D and marketing. AGD is old and tired. Not dead, but they'd rather keep at the pace they're at.Originally posted by malJohannWhy is it that new companies can start with next to nothing and become big, popular, well known and sought after by a lot of people, but an established company with a good reputation, revenue stream and established customer base can't do the same? I am just putting this out, but maybe AGD does not think their is a big enough market to make E-Xmags anymore. They might think that there are enough of used mags to satisfy the market.
How many X-mags would need to be sold for it to be worth it? 100? or 200? or even 1000?
I am not sure how many poeple would buy a new X-Mag in the first year or so.
I mean, when an X-Mag is on the BST section, it does not sell very fast. Ok it is used and the economy is not helping either.. but still
Maybe this is one of the reasons AGD does not want to restart making E-Xmags.
This is just a theory on this

It does become a problem for sales when you need twenty dollars in parts to rebuild a ten year old mag and the other markers either don't have parts available or the parts cost more than the marker is worth.Originally posted by SundownI am just putting this out, but maybe AGD does not think their is a big enough market to make E-Xmags anymore. Yeah that is also very trueOriginally posted by Spider-TWIt does become a problem for sales when you need twenty dollars in parts to rebuild a ten year old mag and the other markers either don't have parts available or the parts cost more than the marker is worth.
Mags are so well made that they last that long. So people don't need to buy a new one every 2 years or so.

AGD would not need to put much, if any, money into R+D. They already have guns that don't need much improvement. They should spend all thier money on advertising, and release specs so other companies can make decent aftermarket products. Look at every other gun...... somebody else makes great upgrade parts for the guns. Hybrid, Tadao, Kila, CCM, CP, ETC ETC ETC............The list goes on. And p[eople love to tinker and upgrade. Except for the guys who play once a month rec ball, they just need a stock mag that will work 99%# of the time(hold on mag shooters, mags do break down once in a blue moon!)
Get another spokesmodel like Clare. She doesn't even need to play like Clare does. Just let her sell for AGD.
