    Time Warp on discovery channel

I did not see this video posted anywhere on this forum so here you go.

    Anybody saw this?

Does not give a very good image to the sport....

    -320 FPS...
-Shooting when someone does not have their mask on...
-Pretending to get hurt to shoot the person after.

I bet a lot of parents won't let their kids play paintball because of that show.

Talk about going out of your way to give paintball a negative image, that video was just ridiculous.

Dude, touching a lightbulb the wrong way will pop it. I don't understand how they were freaking impressed that a paintball made it explode. Those people are pretty much retarded.

isnt knowingly firing a paintball marker at someone above 320 fps against the law?

and then they make a show of it? but agreed, it was fine until the last 30 seconds. shooting someone in the leg above the limit isnt such a big deal if they consent to it, but shooting at someone that close without a mask, and faking an injury to shoot them, wow.

I liked the lightbulb thing.....makes me want to shoot some 4 foot flouro tubes

I dont think they were impressed that it broke the bulb....just that the high speed footage of it breaking while the filament was still burning inside looked cool.

Wow, that was by far the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Someone should call the Discovery Channel and complain. You can't feel squat if you get shot in the mask, it just splats...and obviously someone's going to receive a welt if you shoot them from 5ft away when all that's covering their leg is a piece of cellophane.

Also, what the hell was with people making these dramatic, retarded, dying-like motions after being hit? I played a week ago at an indoor field (280fps max) and there were 15 year old girls taking hits better than these morons.

I demand they do one on baseball, showing what happens when someone throws a 97mph pitch at someone from 6ft away and hits them in the head unprotected, then the leg. Then they should do a broken bat test and see what happens if the bat shards hit someone, followed by tests of line drives striking people at random parts of their body from extremely close distances.

I'll put $ on it that Baseball seems a lot more dangerous than paintball if they're both portrayed in that same light.

At the end the girl really did shoot paint at the guy when he was like 2-3 feet away.. No wonder they say they don't want to do that anymore.

A lot of people on other forums are sending in e-mails and letters with their opinions on this show.

Whatever. Discovery channel is pathetic these days. That "slow mo" camera looks to be about 10 years old. They have no ideas for their shows, and when they DO get a good idea they mess it up by not applying scientific controls or just messing up logic. (Yes mythbusters, it would be a great idea to make a scale model of a human to see if it can fly with plywood, because we ALL know that when you scale things down or up that it SO TOTALLY works. Which is why we've known how insects fly for the past 10,000 years.).

                    They're pathetic.

Yup I agree the last 30 seconds made me a little upset when I saw it on TV. Another thing that annoyed me me was all three girls had ramping DM's and the guys had Phantoms and no experience, it made the sport look bad when these guys got beat up with a 1/2 dozen hits per game.

And to tell you the truth the high speed shots didn't look that cool, as apposed some of the other things they have done. Did you see the one with water and corn starch that was really cool I want to try that!

these tv people DONT GET IT

heres a real life example that got me pretty heated so il give a brief synopsis

first of all thise should be on TV or part of it so il get a copy if i can for viewing or upload.

"nfl films presents" came to our paintball field a few weeks back and recorded a bunch of kids playing as well as a pro player and his wife defending a hill against two uncoming teams which was pretty amusing.

the director made us sign all of his waivers and what not so he could use our images or w/e and signed the field waiver stating he must follow rules etc, howeve he didnt seem it necesary to keep his goggles on at any time, finaly only after some fuss and me refusing to let the game start until he had safety glasses on he reluctantly did so.

he seemed to have no regard for his own safety, the field rules and liability of him not wearing eye/face protection.

almsot anytime you see paintball portrayed on TV or in a movie people are removing mask on the field, not using barrel plugs or sleeves etc.

its those players that are on site's responsibility to make sure they do not portray the sport ina bad image. its things like this that make people think its ok to lift their goggles once the game is over

Yeah, as soon soon as i saw the guy in red lift his goggles after the game was over i nearly turned it off, the last 30 seconds was just ridiculous. If i was the field owner i wouldn't have allowed them to use that footage if it was in my power.
