Tom Kaye on King 5 News tonight in Seattle

    All,

FYI for all our friends in the Seattle area. My most recent project has been working directly with the FBI investigating the historic DB Cooper case. Most of you are too young to remember, but it happened in 1971. A guy hijacked a 727 out of Seattle, demanded money and parachutes and then proceeded to bail out of the plane at 10,000 ft and was never seen again. To this day it remains the only unsolved hijacking in US history.

In 1980, nine years later, three bundles of money turned up on a sand bar on the Columbia river. It was identified by the FBI as Coopers but was never analyzed further. My team is now analyzing that money to understand its history along with other aspects of the case.

Today is the anniversary of the jump and the local news station sent a camera crew to shoot the progress. If anyone sees it please let me know. I will not see it until they release it on the website.

    King 5, 10 and 11 o'clock news Seattle.

    Thanks!

I do remember hearing about that case, possibly on PBS. Very interesting, indeed.

So Tom, what is your thought of Galen Cook and his theory on the Coast To Coast episodes that have aired about the DB Copper case?

Get news about the weird and bizarre on Coast to Coast AM from radio host George Noory every night!

Sounds plausible to me but I'm no researcher on the subject.

I don't think Cook is looking at the facts. Any one that requests "a front and a back parachute" is not an experienced skydiver. They are always called "main and reserve". It would be like claiming someone was an experienced paintballer when he asked for "two air rifles".

Ever since my kids started watching 'Zoolander' over and over, I can't watch Caruso do his 'look'. :spit_take

I've always figured that you could only hunt for Cooper's parachute or some trace that he is alive. If he died in the open out there, the animals would have spread him out in days.

Was the money 'washed up' on the sand bar?

The only evidence that has ever been positively identified as coming from the skyjacking is $6,000 in cash that was discovered along the banks of the Columbia River in 1980. The bills were waterlogged and destroyed, but their serial numbers were among those on the list of currency given to Cooper.

The rest of the money has never been found. The serial numbers on all of the $20 bills given to the hijacker were recorded by the authorities, but not one of the missing bills has ever turned up in circulation.

Cool. I guess I have to wait for the intarwebs posting too. I need a lawn-chair smiley.

Call me confused... but how does being a god amongst mortals when it comes to paintball guns enable you to find DB Cooper's money?

//I think Mr. Kaye has OTHER heightened senses he hasn't revealed to us yet.
                              //supersmelling capabilities!

Didn't they also find some cash just like 2 years ago that was also proven to be his?
