    Annodizers:

A long time ago I started an E-Mag project that eventually dwindled down to a major change to my pneumag. The Chimera frame is a little hanged up and the body and rail are very raw still so I want to get it anodized. Perhaps I've been a little out of the loop but the only anodizer I have a lot of information on is Gruntbull as I've used them in the past. I'd like to use them again as I have a 40 dollar credit with them, but I also like keeping my options open. I only know of TheFool and Nu_Metal, but I have absolutely no information on how they do business, other than the fact that they're both willing to take on detailed/tough/extravagant projects and they do them well.

Fortunately I'm looking for something rather simple, Black -> Silver fade on just 3 parts and leaving my feedneck, detents, trigger, X-Valve, and what little metal shows on my DW foregrip gloss black. And actually now that I think about it Gruntbull has a minimum order requirement which I don't meet so it looks like I'll have to find an alternative.

I'm a constant customer with The Fool. He's really easy to talk to, very down to earth and depending on how fast you need the parts he can do them in a snap or take his time and come out with something that'll really turn heads. He did a nice camo splash pattern for one of my markers and even anodized an x-valve for me that was falling apart. After the ano, the valve worked flawlessly and even looked good. I usually just deal with him since he's also in my part of the country and shipping is cheaper than sending it to say, california. Just e-mail or PM him, he'll happily give you a quick quote.

I went with bazooka_boy here on AO. He was really easy to deal with. Willing to do whatever worked best for my needs. Fast turn around and great prices. I'll let his work speak for itself.

I am in the process of building another project for him to do. I can't wait till it is ready to send to him

Oh right, I forgot about Bazooka_Boy, don't know how! I really liked that ano he did, though I must say it isn't really my style. I'll send out PMs to all of them later when I get a chance, just decided to take a break from studying for finals and working on this project.

Yeah, kind of why I'm feeling a little uneasy about using them for this job, even with the 40 dollars of credit I have. While I think that original thread was in poor taste, it's irrefutable that the work done on that Euro X was very subpar, not just for GB but for anodizers everywhere.

Plus I'm only having 3 (maybe 6) pieces anodized and if I recall correctly there's a minimum of 9 pieces required for a job, which I don't need.

I had a local guy here to me that had his EGO done by Gruntball a few years ago.

They messed up the anno (when I say that, I mean the eye covers didnt have a fade like the whole gun did,.. they were a solid color and stood out pretty nasty like)

Gruntball was asked to re-anno the pieces,.. and they did.

The whole gun was sent back for a fade to color match to "assist" them to do the best work they could at this point.

The result IMHO was a perfect match. If I didnt know the whole story, I would not have known they had to re-anno parts on the gun.

So as far as Gruntballs work,.. I can say that it looks top notch in the real person.

GB started losing credibility with me when they ruined that Viking body. It just seems like they don't give a crap about what goes out of their shop.

Lets not turn this into another bash GB thread, I'm just interested in learning more about more local "unknown" anodizers.

I've had nothing but good luck and great communication with Gruntbull.

I do believe there is a limit of pieces with them though, I think most places have that, so you might want to check.

You could split a run with someone maybe if there was a piece limit.
