    Aka Vikings

What's the deal with "AKA" and "Vikings" being so prominent on this forums?
I'm no noob to AGD and all that entails, but when it comes to AKA and Vikings... why does everyone love them and where can I learn a lot about them?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

The AKA excalibur is an amazing gun. It is fully electropneumatic (doubly so actually) and - here's the awesome part - you can put OIL into it! Not lube, oil!

The tolerances are SUPERB. AKAs are just like mags. They were built with love and care. Someone actually gave a darn about them.

Plus, they have such large air chambers that they recharge fast and are very consistent.

I just bought a Viking to try out. I'll let you know what I think after I test it out.

they are work horses. because of the high quality and close tolerances they function better than most of the other guns out there. It's not uncommon to be getting almost a case out of a single 68ci/ 4500 psi fill on guns that are at least 4 years old (the 2004 line was the last year they were made)

As was also noted you don't need to disassemble the guns and add a thick lube to o-rings, poppits, or whatever, just some oil in the ASA and dry fire and you are good to go.

The viking is the single solenoid, open-bolt design while the Excalibur is the dual solenoid closed bolt one.

The AKA sub-forum on PBN is actually pretty good for more info and such (I guess since they aren't considered "agg" the normal trolls don't reside there)

AKA is to electro-pneumatics as AGD is to mechs.

          Got to love analogies.

Simply put, made lovingly by a family owned machine shop in Indianapolis. Best marker ever made, hands down.

              They are reliable and smooth.

With a robtown valve (and even without) You have a very smooth cycling marker that you don't have to baby.

They tend to hold their value as a side note.

Personally I think the AGD v AKA debate is like the ford v chevy debates of times gone by.

AGD is one of, if not the best, mechanical marker you can buy
AKA is one of, if not the best, electronic marker you can buy

And this forum is about MAGS!

So expect them to get mentioned every now and then
