Old Pro pics, Kaye, Long, Tripes, ETC>

Thought you guys might appreciate some old pics I took, from back in the sweet-spot days of paintball.
    These are from about 1994.
Look for Tom Kaye, Bob Long, Bob Moon(from FIXMYANGEL) Oh the Pro you Know, and various other deadly asskickers from back in the day.
    I will elaborate later,
    Brent.

OK...Pic 1 is Bob Long and Oh Pawlak. Notice their Markers. Oh's was his own signature line, with internal goodies and unireg, plus some cool custom touches He shot slow and accurately and this gun served him well.
Bobs is another custom which had the renegade camo, whisper barrell and other stuff, It was fast.
By the way, back then Cockers were way faster than mags in the right hands, up untill the two finger trigger came out.

Pic2 is Bob Long, Oh and Marty Tripes. Marty was the Scott goggle guy and he sponsered us with goggs and lenses. Is that Tom Kaye??? Notice all the Compressed air tanks. This event was the first time we saw them. The cat in the Grey and red jacket was one of the finest woods players I have ever seen. Just an animal.

Pic3 Same guys, but the guy in the goatee was another original Iron man. I took my style of play from him and DIRK. They beat you by sheer intimidation and would just run right over the top of you. Notice our factory sponsered automag t-shirts. All these pics were taken at paintball sam,s by Sacramento. Oh and Bob moon owned the field and Predator paintball, and this was a "BIG GAME" #2 I think. Hundreds of people.

Pic 4 This is some of our factory sponsered LANDSHARK Team. Bob Moon was the captain.
I have had my differences with the man, but he ran a good team with good sponsership.

Pic 5 and 6 are of the 1994 NPPL San Diego fields.
This boys and girls is hoe the pro circuit used to look. Oh was helping us out with a field read. You think you have a hard time getting your plan on a concept field? My first ever game against a pro team was on the field in pic 6. The All Americans. They showed up with these evil looking mags with double triggers and buttplug foregrips on extensions. Absolutly the most evil liiking gun to this day.
Most of the 9 man 1 woman team ran in about 30 yards and just started spraying. Two crawlers flew into those reeds and just commenced to commencing on us. I ran around the backside in that pic and was going for the flag, which got me shot about 50 times. My buddy allen shot the girl.
      Fun times.
      Brent.

Based upon pic #4, the colorful referee camo looks like the smart parts camo from 1996 perhaps?

In photo 5 I see one person out of 5 with a full face mask. I can't imagine that a shot in the mouth is any fun.

Yah there was a while there where no mask and half masks were the in thing.

the half mask thing was dumb da dumb dumb. I remember it well.

Smart Parts back in the day was a great company, it wasn't until the patents they turned to the dark side.

                    Great pics!

I've been shot in the full face mask. The ball broke. Then the pieces of broken ball and paint proceeded to go through the slits in the mask. And bust open both of my lips. So I can only imagine an unprotected shot to the mouth

I use an Oh Pawlak / Predator 'Mag and have a Team Ironman stock like Long has on his 'Cocker.

The current production markers don't have the "cool" factor of the originals.

Same goes for cars and Hollywood starlets I guess.

No worse than getting hit anywhere else pain wise. IF you got hit in the lip you could get a busted lip from it or a bleeding nose if thats where it hit. In all the time I played I only got hit in the face twice. With the original goggles from the eigties, if you got hit in the goggle, you could get a black eye from that.
