DYE ultralite on a RT Pro?

Alright, so I'm looking into getting a new barrel. I have the opportunity to get a 14" DYE ultralite for a fairly good price($70 the guy's who's selling it never used it bought a freak system from someone else before his ultralite even made it to his house...). I had been looking into getting either a Boomstick or the Freak system(I don't have the money for a $300 barrel system, so please don't taunt me by recommending that I buy one of those) What are some of your thoughts on the ultralite? What about DYE stainless steel barrel? Will it work as well as the boomstick? Do I need to just wait and save up my money for the freak or boomstick? I'm also ordering the superbolt the next time I see it for sale in the online store, if that makes a difference in which barrel I get. Thanks.

    ~Jonathan

(edit--which will be the most quiet out of those I mentioned?)

Don't think of it as being outnumbered, think of it as a wide target selection.

The boomsticks and SS are heavy. The ultralite is liek the SS just out of aluminum. I hav a TI Boomstick and love it(DYE Quality). I also have a friend with an ultralite and he loves it. My barrel is much more quiet and they are around the same weight.

TI = Very expensive But also really cool when it shoots sparks out the end of the barrel

You really don't need to spend 300 on a freak - I just bought one with a moderate selection of inserts for 230 and thought that maybe I was getting more than I needed. Maybe that's out of your ballpark, too... just wanted to let you know that maybe they aren't as bad as you think. If you get a TOTALLY COMPLETE freak system they're alot more - like you could spend 500 easy. - I just identified the kind of paint I shoot most and bought inserts for the mid sizes. The cool thing is that you can kinda buy as you go and add to your collection for not alot after you get the holders. I had a dye ultralight I traded for a slam pack but I'd still take a J&J ceramic over it in the weight department but they're brittle - and I've seen them for 50 bucks. The thing about the ultralight is it's super high quality - it'll really last. Dye makes great stuff.

but why would you do that? I don't know it doesn't make sense to me to mention that possibility... I mean you can get a totally complete freak kit for 205 with 8 inserts, ss back and a colored tip (that's what i got from pballgear)

I had just been reading around on here and I saw that some people had spent over $300 for their barrel system. I figured I could pick up the basic freak system for a reasonable price. I was just wondering about the different DYE barrels and if I should go for the ultralight or save up some and get one of the higher priced DYE barrels or a barrel kit(such as the freak). I still have some thinking to do before I tell the guy yay or nay....

Hey DaosBeoluve I would buy the ultra light cause it is a good deal for the money. Also It is the all aluminum version of the BoomStick ( their best barrel) and will proform just as good. Hey also what do you mean buy Mobile,AL in parenths after some place in tenn. If you are in Mobile now there is the PC Paintball big game this sunday I would like to invite you to

I'm from Mobile, going to school in Nashville at Vanderbilt. Unfortunately, I won't be in Mobile until next weekend, or I'd definitely go to PC and play. I bought my old Spyder from Dick. Cool guy. Anyways, I'm probably going to pick up the ultralight and see if I like it. If not, I'll just use it as a backup and buy a better barrel later

Yah - after tax and shipping it was 230 for what I bought. I don't have everything, but a good selection of barrels and inserts.

If you don't mind me asking what do you all have for 230? what tip, back, and inserts? because i'm saying for 205 shipped I got all 8 inserts and an ss back and colored freak tip
