How much Interest in the Legends of Paintball Game??

    Hi All,

So what's the skinny on the Lengend's game? Fun, going again or not? How many people did they get last year?

    Looking for feedback.

    Thanks

about 850 players last year. The event was extremely well run, excellent paint, never ending air, no waits.
Game play and all around atmosphere was something i have not seen in 15 years. Highly recommended !!
Great attitudes all around. I will be back this year.
I only seen 2 mags at the entire event, mine and a player from the Chicago HERETICS broke out his classic.

hey tom - glad to see you are interested!

i thought it was a bit fewer then 850 people last year, more like 700. but last years game was kind of thrown together at the last minute, like about a month or a bit more earlier then the game. since the success of that, they have been planning and announcing that event for a while now, so it should be bigger.

it was a great event last year, lots of fun to play, and CPX is a great field.

me and bryce and the punkworks crew will be there, mike and willie from techpb are thinking about trying to make it too. now chatting with kitty, from the UK, she is interested in attending.

i thought the legends list from last year was pretty pathetic. the only real ledgends i though were the palmers team, and billy gardner. tom you would im sure be the highlight for a large number of players, i would love to see alot of those old school guys like bob long, dave youngblood, fred shultz, bonebreak and such.

i would love to meet you in person, i think my mind would explode. i saw quite a few automags out there, and the PBN mod squad for the most part was rocking mech cockers.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are we talking about the Living Legends (CPX sports) game in Joliet, IL?

If it is, a few guys from our team will be attending this year. We've heard nothing but great things about the field and how it is run.

850 is what i recall Viper announcing at the awards ceremony. I thought there were some notable people there. Not exactly all legends but it all boils down to perception.
Come on now....you saying Tyger being on the stage introduced as a legend was pathetic I was overjoyed he was there. I love shooting him, irregardless of what team he is on.

Overall great game. Well run and fun. Play was competitive but very honorable. I was mostly running and gunning - didn't really get into the missions much, but it was a pretty lopsided win by the SP crew last year.

They're working on recruiting a little more evenly this year.

Good paint, excellent field and a bunch of really great people to chat with. Spent some time with Blue's Crew at their tent - the SP tent, spoke with the Palmers - and got to witness Stapes from Damage Inc. knife Craig Palmer and 5 of his guys - good stuff.

Spent a lot of time running with Damage Inc - and if you've ever had a chance to play with or against them - you know how fun it can be. Nothing like 6 guys with ATS guns letting fly at 13bps - mechanical full auto is awesome.

I would highly suggest anyone who can make it - do.

i have such a love hate relationship with tyger ... idk.

idk, i would have called most of those people on stage VIPs not legends. its one of those silly words things though, not nice and easy to deal with like numbers and data.

you have to start somewhere though, i thought last years game was great, and it will only get larger IMO, attracting more legends out from under there rocks, which draws more poeple ...

it was a great game and a good start. tom, as i was saying back in the techpb chat room a couple of months back, i dont know what would come out of my mouth, it would probably be some kind of blubbering nonsensical complimentary thank yous.

last year i met simon stevens there, im sure he will come again, KEE is right there.

i agree, it should only get better and better.
My highlight was being approached by Jim Lively and Blue from Blues Crew asking if Paintball Dave from Milwaukee was still around/alive. We were wearing Paintball Dave shirts.
Gave Jim his number and loe and behold Dave drove down looking for us to play on sunday.
He was running, more like walking around with his gold plated PGP.

I hear a number of the Mod Squad plan to shoot pumps this year. I'll have mine, along with my usual assortment of hardware. Seems I can't just go play anywhere without dragging a mountain of gear along. I blame my Cavalry upbringing.

Also, my offer of cookies I'd mentioned on PBN still stands - I'll bring homemade cookies for anyone who can cajole Fred Schultz into coming around for this one.
