I think he did a great job on the choice of components and the Grip Frame but the body milling is what killed this for me. I was really hoping this would be my first Viking purchase but I'm going to pass on this one. It also appears that the hype of the sale has not done that well either...

for the price you cant beat it. I like the milling. It is not too fancy, but has some nice curves.

I agree with the milling. I don't like when the reg part is milled out like that. Just me. Oh well, I can't afford it anyway.

I was really hyped until I saw the final pics. The milling and frame combo do nothing for me. Id rather rock a halfmill.

That being said I think its really cool that another company is offering AKA milling. Maybe they will come up with something a little more sexy next.

I agree. Though I think their goal was the most 'efficient' Viking in terms of weight.

Though I'd still rather keep my 'Borg.

QFT. You have to keep in mind they were going for a minimalist design to make it relatively affordable to the masses. Id love to see them do an "all out" design though.

                  Whaaaa ? 1300.00 is affordable ?
They might get deposits on a few of them, but I will be very surprised if they collect the
full price on even half of them.
Its double the price what the market will bear.
But hey get it if you can.

In the realm of NEW custom Vikings yes. WHere the hell have you been? Its a lot less than the $2,000+ that have gone into mine.

I prefer Excals, but if I liked Vikings I find the price very reasonable for the following reasons:

                          1) Its new
                          2) It comes with the Acid Customs triggers...arguably one of the best designs
                          3) It comes with the new AKA SST reg(not yet released!)
                          4) Its custom machined, with your choice of ano color
                          5) It has a custom trigger frame
                          6) It has a clamping lever-feedneck
                          7) Its trayless

Comparing what the market will bear on a used FSP Viking with non-matching dust parts to a brand new Viking with the best parts on it....is comparing apples to oranges.

I think the market has been good so far. I am expecting to sell out without worries and then watch the price go up.

A little math for you going home:

                            Tadao board 165$
                            Grip frame diet milling $45
                            FSP milling complete $275
Milled dovetail for an ASA on your grip frame $30
                            hidden noid pocket $45
                            bolt milling 35$
                            Thin tray $40.
                            SST Regulator 85$
                            Anodizing 200$
                            FBM feedneck 35$
Acid Customs Aluminum Trigger 60$ (shipped)
Warped Airsmith Aluminum Bolt Pin 20$ (shipped)
                            Stainless steel hardware 30$ (shipped)
                            Stinger grips 25$
Quad detents and eye covers ?
                            Custom Volumizer?
                            . . .

                            Total 1125$

That is not including the gun purchase or the custom frame (both of which are new items here) or shipping for most of those items. Nevermind assembly charges shipping to and from several shops to have the work done and the waiting.

Those are all prices people are paying all the time. Jared at DC is a busy man. Sure these are not the cheapest gun you can buy NEW. One of the last new guns ever to be release done as part of a custom run though. Never mind the performance enhancements of the boards weight reduction etc.

People are paying for this stuff regularly. I am merely doing them the courtesy of having it all done for them and reducing the wait time. But hey you can pick one up on ebay later. maybe . . .

Is there an issue with the sale thread on PBN, every time I try to go to it by clicking on the link I get a message that I do not have permission to view that page?
