There shouldn't be any kind of performance difference. Some people put the reg in the grip so it is more of a concealed "sleeper" look. I personally like them outside and preferably on the vert. asa just so it is easy to get to and disasemble if necessary. I find the ones in the grip frame sometimes take a "magic wand" to get out or take aart. This mag is very well done!
