    I hate punks!!!!!!!!!!!

So I went out today and played a great day of paintball with my team. I was using a Invert Mini to start things off to kind of gauge thing out, since I never played at this field before. After one game of playing I brought out my warped mag to even things up on the field. Half of the walkons were rentals and the other half had their own markers with average skill. As the day went on the refs tried staking the odds against my team and eventually split us up.
During the day I could see that everyone was gunning for my friend and I,oh he was using a 2004 prostock cocker. Now my friend and I play very fair,no bonus balling, wiping, etc. we're just there to have a good time. I think what really set off the field on us is when there was a guy hiding in slotted bunker. He keeps popping out of the same side of the bunker not really snap shooting ,but doing his best. Well, I end up hitting him in his hand threw the bunker,I saw the shot plain as day and I know he felt it too. I'm calling him out, telling the ref to check him, 2 mins later he comes out the bunker complaining that I didn't let him come out, that he was going to come out but whatever. I pulled him to the side and explained that he needs to wave people of and put his gun up and come out. no big deal....Right!!!!!!!! Me and my guys sit out the next two games cause we're not 18 anymore and we're beat.We also decide that the next game we play will be the last one for the day.

This is we're the real fun begins. The refs call for open semi and start arranging the teams again. At this point four punks with Egos and Bob longs come on the field and say"why don't you just put everyone against us" that right there gave me some extra motivation. While we were walking out to the field I hear from the other players there that those guys just raped everyone on the field and that there really good, blah blah blah. So they decide to leave my whole team of 5 together and made pretty even teams of 20 each. The field setup was a basic center base with the two teams starting at both sides. We start out running the left tape line and have a group of players do the same on the right and have a group in the center 50.the other team throws their whole team on our mirror and keeps the 4 clowns together on the our right side.We take out the left side but lose our center 50 and some from our right side.At this point we have all the angles on them and they're just throwing. I swear they must have sent over to me about 3 times for a paint check, but weren't even coming close to hitting me. These guys were bunched up against their tapeline and we got two out. The last two guys are playing the 50 bunker and we have them contained on both sides. I make a break to bunker them and all I hear is here he comes right up the middle!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get a good 6 balls to the face at about 10 feet away and now I'm living!!!!!!!!!! these guys scream over to their boy that I'm coming. So now I go over to them and tell them wtf!!!!!! Its funny cause I said who said that and a little kid points at these guys. first the denied it then they said they did it because they shot me along time ago,on and on and on. He tried to justify cheating, how do you do that??I lost it!!!!!!!!!! My only response to him was this, you can by a 1000 dollar gun but you can't by game. I had to leave right after that cause

This happened like seven hours ago and I'm still pissed.Guys thanks for listening right now cause my wife is tired of hearing about it.lol

I really want to know how often do you see these guys that think they're hot stuff but when you put the pressure on them they fold like paper?

Why do people take a rec ball game so serious????

Since when did the more money you spent on a marker meant the better player you were???

funny when people type and they are angry... it comes out about the same as when they are drunk

This happens at every field - "Dead men don't talk" has alwasys been a rule at our field, and one of the hardest to enforce, because once it's out there, its done, and all you can do is pull everyone that migth have just heard it. Not an easy thing to do or catch unless the person is dumb enough to walk by you as they are talking.

Best thing would haeve been chanel the anger into a few extra bonus balls or an aggressive usally ill timed charge in another game against them again

Something like this happened today for me as well, sorta. I was practicing with Dynasty and Infamous and it was about the time to leave and like 3/4 of them left. One of the rec ball refs comes up to us and says that they got some really bad cheaters and that they are all on a "team". He asked if we could teach em a lesson or two. So we switched jerseys to some raggedy clothes that we happened to have and jump in on the last game.

These 5-7 guys were looking down the barrels of 7 pro players (and me) at about ten feet away and got blasted to high heaven. They did the WTF thing and we turned and said, "Karma. You cheat and unload on little kids and hit people 5x in the head, something will come back and get you."

One guy says FU, and challenges one of us to a one on one and we ok it. The selected two make it to the speedball coarse (after a quick change back to a pro jersey) and the game is on. 30 seconds later this kid get 5 to the face and 4 to the chest. Then he sees the jersey and almost crapped him self.

Cheating in rec ball and unloading on kids and people after they are out will come back and bite you in the butt.

but why is this the norm now????? what ever happened to the guys that knew what they were doing trying to HELP out the noobs??? Since when did we try taking kids heads off with a stream of paint, and then giving a high five to your bud after that?I'm only 27 but this is not the same game I started playing 9 years ago.The focus in paintball has switch from movement and skill to psp ramping and how much paint I can hold.

whats funny about this is i was just at a 2 day scenario and me and the air guy who works their for the big games were talking about it. like exactly the i dont get how 1000+ dollars makes a better player. now i usually ref at this same field but i wanted to play and i shoot e-cockers mostly. just got my first mech mag. but its not really bassed on skill anymore. yes i can walk it preety good to about 12. now thats not super human 20+ walking or anything. im a normal person. thats the best i can do. i do ramp at the big games because i cant count how manny times over the last 2 days i got lit up from people shooting 30+ with their egos just spraying thew the bush. (im the law guy too so of course they are going for me). so after that happening a couple times i got my a1 fly and said ya know if everyone else is. im not good enough to take on 5 people shooting 30+ at me. im srry just aint happening. but i did one ball one guy on the last mission/final battle and he was the last guy holding it. i got him from about 50-75 feet away from in a bush. i had like 3 balls left. i took one shot and nailed him in the goggles. it was much much much more gratifieing knowing that was a skill shot not just spray the opening and wait. i snuck up on him took a good 5 minutes crawling threw the mud and nailed him on the first shot with 3 balls left just nothing can compare to that feeling of i outdid you and got you with my last shot of the game ... i would rather do that anyday then stand their and just unload all my paint but in reality it is needed to have that option in a modern big game where people ignore the rules half the time or just enjoy lighting people up idk its more fun to sneak up and stalk a target and get him with 1-5 shots. but i got the a1 and used ramping more to just even it up for me.

Never experienced something like this but i've gotten a lot of guys wiping in recball, and i shot this guy and saw it explode on his hands 5 different times, and i ended up off the field before him.

What i realized though when i was reffing this past summer is that this is only the norm for a lot of newer regular players, because the guys that were new and stuff were actually honest, although they were the ones the also ended up shooting at the guys in blaze orange.

gotta remember todays rec ball players are yesterdays wanna be tourney players who discovered they cant hang wiht the big boys in that arena... so lo and behold they find the lambs being led to the slaughter that is walk on recreational paintball...

Us old timers started in the woods, played fair, came out to the inflat-a-raft fields and aftwer witnessing the level of cheating and lack of skill most hung up their boots, others returned to recreational woodsball.

It's that same kid you saw take 5 to the chest and clean it with a superman dive 4 years ago that you just shot in the hand 4 times and he is still in his bunker slinging paint back at you, claiming he hit you every time he pulled the trigger - and he expects YOU to sluff hits because thats whay HE would do and everyone He is used to playing against would do.

Yeah...that's one of the reasons why I generally don't play at fields and instead prefer private outlaw games. I only had something like this happen once, but that's all it took.

Fortunately, I managed to find a great group of people in my area and so far we've had two days with 14-15 people in attendance (very little player overlap between the two days also) with absolutely no problems since the beginning of March when we first got together.

I think the idea of playing on private property might be the key there, as you're a guest, not a customer, and people tend to behave differently in the two roles. Plus, finding a well-hidden body on 40+ acres isn't all that easy.

Or maybe it's because we're all just "n00bs with mechs in camo". Also have a lot of "old" guys in the group - that might have something to do with it.

At the field i used to go to, there was this small group of 3 kids who would show up with their Ego's and expensive gearbags and other assorted gear; that their dad bought them with his government disability checks. (people leaching off of the government and spending the cash on **** like that pisses me off.)

every time they'd show up they would get all of their stuff ready and sit out each game. We'd ask them to play but all we would get was "umm...i'm out of air." Your out of air yet you made it a point to bring all of your gear and bug your parents to take you to the field? The field was pretty much playing day care. They NEVER played yet they had the biggest ****ing mouths.

I agree with Josh on this one. It is paintball brother, no need to stay all pissed off over something like this. It happens, will happen again. Chances are that the little punk never even gave it a second thought.

Why do teams think that its appropriate to practice, as a team, on walk on recreational days?

                            No other forms of practice.

It's still possible to practice that way, you can work on individual skills against equally skilled opponents.

Its open recreational play... thats what its meant for. Not enforcing this is one of the biggest turn-offs to new players, those who don't want the hassle of a team, and those of us playing simply because its fun. Its not fun when it becomes teams throwing their weight around.
