tippmann made an actual rifling barrel?

haha not really... they seem to think so though. I watched the video at least 25 times and to me all i see is a paintball that has some slight back right spin... which isnt going to help the accuracy at ALL.

    Cheers tippmann!

anyone use one of these "straightline" barrels yet? any decent?

Im sticking with my SS inserted freak... but im just curious

ya, i just find it funny that tippmann claims they work... shows "proof" that they work, and yet... they dont work.

      haha

also here is just some food for though. The barrel comes with bore sizers, if the paintball is smaller than the inner diameter of the barrel to the point that you need a sizer to get appropriate bore sizing you wouldnt have the ball even touching the rifling.

I just think this is a huge fail for tippmann, although the tpx pistol seems very promising

They're made by HH and are therefore just as useless as any other HH product lol. HH's hype-based marketing is more likely to increase accuracy than the actual rifling haha.

I don't know, hype sells even if it is fantasy. i know a lot of the high school kids I play with who shoot tippmanns at least want the barrel kit. With that hype and a lower price tag, they would sell plenty even if it doesn't work. Kids would just convince themselves that it is working.

It is funny because the barrel shown is not a HammerHead Straightline and the marker being shot appears to be a Spyder...

Tippmann has been going downhill since their major split with BT.

The Triumph was a short lived disaster, the X-7 is a joke with the price tag it has, the Alpha, though a nice cheap M4 mod, is just a 98 that you can't upgrade, the C-3, though a neat idea, was a major fail as it tended to promote outlaw-ball (anywhere there is a field there is at least CO2), the new 98 Platinum series broke the 98 chain as it has many proprietary parts and half of the upgrades aren't legacy...

Yes, at least the TPX looks promising, but they should have stopped after the A-5.

However, I've had nothing but excellent customer service from them. I never needed to use it, persay, but I did get some free parts off of them and I know many others who have gotten their guns teched for free. I've also seen where someone's recievers cracked and Tippmann replaced them for free even though the marker was well out of warrenty.

I don't know if this has changed recently, though.
