Looking for a decently priced electronic hopper

Alot of members of PB-Nation said to get an electronic hopper for my Minimag. My question is which one I only have $45 to spend on a hopper.

Well as much as I love PBN....

What issue are you trying to resolve with your Minimag???

E Hoppers have their good and bad sides. So what are you "shooting" for and trying to accomplish?

Spend $45?? Easy enough! Buy a hopper.... Resolve other issues??? What are they that you are trying to solve???

    BTW, I also PM'd you.

I haven't played paintball yet as I'm trying to get stuff together The guy who sold me the Minimag failed to mention that he shortened the feedneck of the marker I fixed that problem by buying an elbow and some Loc-Tite super glue Without being glue on I could easily pull off the elbow Other than that everything is fine It's just everyone recommends an electronic hopper is all.

Well with a MM with a powerfeed body (the angled ones) you have to have an elbow. The feedneck can be shortened about 1/2 an inch and still be fine. You shouldn't need glue to hold the elbow on though. Can you get pics of what you have?

I'm going to guess that you have a classic/SS valve/body combo. With Level 7 in it.

Since you are new to the sport, you can easily get away with a non powered hopper, and if you are shooting a mech mag with a single trigger I doubt you'd really out shoot much of anything unless you try to.

If you shoot 1-5 per second I'd say a gravity feed would be fine. Even revi's and such are gravity feed and not force feed. And though they do make a diff when it comes to shake n bake, you will find the feed speed isn't the issue that it solved persay.

You can pick up a revi for 25-35 Halo's and VLo's for $50 ish.

Eggs and Rico's for hmmmm $15-$25.

Look around see what you like and compare prices.

Without the glue I could easily pull the elbow off Unfortunately I don't have a camera or a pc I just a MSN-TV2 unit which doesn't allow me to upload pics I have a single trigger Minimag but I don't know what level bolt though. There is a pic of my marker in the Automag forum on PB-Nation

Let me get a link to that pic.

A revvie should be fine on a minimag.. I would advise against a halo or any other relativly heavy loader due to the fact it has to be placed on the gun with an elbow. Either the elbow twists on your feedneck, or in some cases could break. Having a spare elbow in your kit is really not a bad idea, depending on how rough you play.

The revvie is fairy cheap to get, used ones don't cost that much but the new type ones are made out of a harder kind of plastic, so they do tend to crack sometimes. But the only crack i have had sofar was easily repaired with some superglue. Also these loaders are very forgiving on what kind of batteries you feed them, and don't go MIA all of a sudden if the battery voltage drops. The electronics are fairly simple compared to the high end loaders, and i always use rechargable 9V batteries in them

And in a pinch they can function as a rattle and shake hopper.

Tis true!!!! One of the things I hate about force feeds.. when the battery is dead you can't shake n bake it...

I like ones that even when dead they still work, just not as fast.

Allow me to play the grumpy old man in this thread.

... Have you actually played with the marker yet?

You need to take it out and play with it at least once and make sure everything else is fine with it. A fat lot of good an electronic hopper is going to do you if all the o-orings and reg seat need to be replaced in your gun, but you can't buy the spare parts because you blew your last $45 on an electronic hopper for a non-working gun.

                  Just sayin'.

                  Definitely not on the A-Team.

I think the Minimag will work just fine. Being used I know it needs to be torn down, cleaned and lubed.

Might want to try putting air into it first anyway If he cut the feedneck then who knows what else he could've done to it that made him decide to sell it.

You should be able to find an old school soft shelled revi for under $40 used. Whether you really "need" it or not, it is a great hopper for recreational play. With the new PSP cap, it is sufficent for tourney play as well....
I would think that buying a revi would be a smart purchase that could be held on to for a long time to come, just make sure it is the old one, not the new hard shelled ones.

You should definately invest in a ProTeam elbow and then a Revy/Ricochet for that Mini.
