Used my Q Loader for the first time...

    Hi everyone,

So, I finally had a chance to use my Q loader for the first time yesterday. It was AWESOME!!! It took a little getting used to, but I got the hang of it. Fortunately I was able to take the time to set it up correctly, and had no problems when changing pods. No chops all day. Granted, I played pump for half the day, but still, I think I ran close to 1000 rounds through the Q loader with no issues. I did have a few questions and issues though:

    1. When I load the pods, I use the silo that came with the kit. Now, I noticed that every once in a while, it would skip a ball here and there. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
    2. I noticed that there seemed to be some room in the loader when I finished loading and the balls seems to jiggle around a little. Are they supposed to be very close together and not do this?
    3. I need some tips on my harness set up. Now, I like to use a vest, and I ordered the pod packs from Rap 4, and they were too small for the Q pods. What type of harnesses do people use? I found that I could change out the pods real fast, but getting them into the harness was slowing me down greatly. I am open to any and all suggestions, or if you know of some good products, LMK.

    Thanks everyone

Toss the Silo.... it's a PITA. Take a regular hopper like a revi or rico or something and stick it straight into the top of the reloader socket. You can still skip balls but not as often as you do with that silo set up. I always hated that thing.

    2. I noticed that there seemed to be some room in the loader when I finished loading and the balls seems to jiggle around a little. Are they supposed to be very close together and not do this?

The room in the bottom is normal and fine. The jiggle is fine. The balls are not compressed AGAINST each other. They are all sitting in their own space that is held in place by the coil spring and the gear system. That's why they don't all come out when you take a pod off. The jiggle is fine.

    3. I need some tips on my harness set up. Now, I like to use a vest, and I ordered the pod packs from Rap 4, and they were too small for the Q pods. What type of harnesses do people use? Q Pods are just a bit larger than normal pods. Don't know why but they are. I have an old worn out pack that is too loose for normal pods that fit my Q pods fine. The pod packs with the elastic loops seems to be best, but the production of them is limited. Check the packs from Q Loader themselves as they are made a bit larger for the pods.

Let me know if you have any other questions... and glad ya got to use it and it did well for ya... Keep thinking I'll put mine back on one of my guns, just haven't done it yet.

Thank you DevilMan. I will try it with an electronic loader rather than the silo. I am glad that the jiggling is normal. Thought that I was doing something wrong. I appreciate the advice!!

Devilman answer all your other questions.

As for the pods pack, there is a list somewhere of all the pack that work with it.

Some NXL pack work with the qpods even though i don't know the name.

I use the kind with the velcro sleeve that goes around the pod, they help with the loading greatly.

I thought that was a genius idea, but how many can you fit on the harness? I have 6 pods in total. I usually like to carry all of them, and I play on pretty big fields, so I need to be able to stick them back on the harness, not just drop them on the field. So if I have to stick it back on before pulling off the next one, I need enough space to have all 6 on at one time. Other than that, the harness is perfect for what I am looking for.

Stayhuge - Are you using your Q on an Automag? If so, how do you have it set up? I am putting together a new gun and I plan to run a Q on it. I'd also appreciate any more info you can post about your experience with the Q.

I have a minitac body. Regular feed (not warp). I used a weaver offset rail mount, and rigged the Q loader to that. It is pretty much parallel to my body, well out of the way of the foregrip and not above the marker. I will try to post some pics. Also, there is a thread that someone started a few weeks ago about Q loaders. There were a bunch of different pics in there.

I think the JT velcro carry 6, and the fist pack carry 5

I checked that stuff out. I think I have an idea of how I want to accomplish this. One day, when the project is finished, I'll post pics.

I have also heard that the Flurry Industries vests work. What about the NXE Extraction series?

Couple tips (actually the things that drove me away from the Q):
                            - Don't use the custom mounting socket if you can help it. It's pretty fragile.
                            - Their customer service is a little less than 1% of what it used to be. Try not to break anything.
                            - Use a cheap agitated loader to load pods and carry the system in a pack during scenario games.

Most of the RAP4 deals will fit the Qpod, if only barely. I have a couple. The velcro doesn't make it, but they work with the snap clip. Specops stuff also fits.

The harness Qloader sells for the system is absolutely top notch. Probably the best thing about the product.

heres how mine is set up

i used an air america rail on the bottom of my marker, attached my drop to the 2 holes that normaly have the set screw for the reg and used the custom mounting socket and attached it to the rail as well. the only thing i wish i had was the bigger plastic 90* elbow but it still work good for me. i just keep having problems with my pods not wanting to work right
