I have seen those. I believe they are just for airsoft. At least the one I looked at said it was only for airsoft. You certainly won't be allowed to wear something like that at any official field. There were too many incidents of a paintball slipping up under the goggles.

LOL, I used to wear just the goggles back in the day, and that was when the velocity was 300fps everywhere. Although there wasn't anyone shooting above 6-8bps then either. I still have my old JT goggles that the area around the mouth is the only thing left, I cut everything else off the frame.

Yeah, Bass Pro shops are not worth going to for paintball gear. Maybe good boots or a camel pack, but not paintball specific gear.

Last time I was there, the gear in your picture was about all they had. Seriously, I have more than that.

That sticker on the lense says "FOR AIRSOFT USE ONLY."

Also, half the people that buy paintball gear at big stores like that dont even wear masks. Consider it an upgrade for darwinism.

One of my buddies has been playing paintball since the paint was oil, and goggles were optional. He was struck in the ear with a direct hit, and is deaf in that ear from his eardrum being destroyed.
He actually had the color of that paint come out of his ear for years following that.

I, for one, am glad that face and head protection have gotten so much better.

Check out APG covers from the mid-1990s: most were depicted with goggles-only.

It was a fad that came and went, just like big drops, and any number of paintball yesterdays.

I didn't understand it then, and I don't understand it now.
