    Piranha Long Barrel info

    I'm specifically looking for what bore size the Piranha LBs came in. Is it larger than .687?

    As far as parts availability, is there anywhere to go with replacement stuff or is it all fleabay and forum searches?

    And lastsly, what is the OD of the feednecks? Are they 1" or the smaller 7/8" like the Automags are?

      Mine is right at .688". Palmer Pursuit Shop sells parts, and the OD of the feedneck is 1". The inside is 7/8" though. You can get a adapter that slides into the Feedneck, and sticks out allowing you to use a 7/8" elbow.

          Yes, I have several elbows that are 7/8", some that use the sleeves, but only one that is 1" and is very well built. It has no screws and I put hose clamps on it to keep it striahgt.

          It is currently on my Trracer, I was going to sell it with the Trracer, but if it will fit the Piranha I'll keep it.



          Another question. How do you adjust the velocity? Is it via the bolt, or by prings?

          On the PMI-1 it is through an RVA, but the Piranha has an ASA there...

              On the Piranha's velocity is usually adjusted by changing springs, but sometimes you can come across an adjustable bolt in one. Of the three I had only one is adjustable.
              You can also use a short length of 3/4" copper pipe as a sleeve to fit other elbows or stick feeds, the Brass Eagle elbows also work.
              Here's a pic of our three club loaners I just finished working on, an early PGP, P12 and Piranha.

              I put an adjustable bolt in this Piranha.

                  Is it worth the extra cash for an adjustable hammer?

                  I have one pending to me and the guys says he'll toss in an adjustable hammer for $30 extra.


                  On the back of the bolt there is that knurled nob, what does that do?



                  Also, about what year were the Piranhas made?


                  And while I'm at it, because I'm no expert, which of these looks better?





                  The top pic is better quality, but I'm looking more at the gun itself.

                  Top gun has a small ding in the barrel but has polished internals.
                  Bottom gun is great cosmetically aside from the front sight being gone, but needs some tuning and has a rental number carved on the barrel.

                  The bottom one is the one that is pending to me, top one I haven't heard back about.

                      The bottom looks better over all, the top one you can see some wear marks from the pump though they both look in good shape either would be nice to have.
                      The knob on the back of the bolt locks the cocking rod, it will either screw in to lock or will be spring loaded as in pull to release the rod.
                      I don't think an adjustable hammer is worth it, to me an adjustable bolt is better.

                              I had an adjustable hammer and it is only good for minute adjustments, fine tuning when its close. IIRC, Palmers can modify the back bottle adapter to have a velocity adjuster, thats the best way to go.

                                  I got the one in the bottom pic. It came the other day, I've spent the time since then restoring it.

                                  I've: cleaned it, replaced bolts/screws, greased the pump slide, added a trigger shoe, oiled it, sanded the grips, stained the grips, replaced the spring, soldered a new bead-sight, polished the whole gun, and deburred the bore a bit.

                                  Please excuse me if I go pic crazy
