The general thing he has said about this, is that he has tons of ideas which hve been developed to some extent, but which arent feasible to produce (in a business sense) at this time. Same thing for developing new products.

He has hinted that this will be reevaluated once the paintball business environment changes for the better.

Tom himself can shed more detail if he sees this post

            Hi Guys,

I have said before that I visit the forum every single day. As far as getting back involved, I am not ruling anything out. It would take someone with outside cash to get the ball rolling.

I am watching things change dramatically in the paintball industry. Seems everyone is on the ropes and looking for new ideas. I am very interested in seeing how the 50 cal idea goes over.

With everyone turning out mil sim markers it seems tournament is on the way out. I find that particularly interesting. Info that drifts my way is saying that all the major manufacturers are millions in debt and looking for ways out. If a bunch of companies drop out, it could get really interesting but for now I am sitting, waiting and watching.

Man, that makes me really rethink ever considering entering the business as an engineer, or trying to release my marker that i'm designing. Maybe i should just focus on the automotive market....

Either way i hope you do come back to the sport, i can guarantee that if you make the marker that you would make for yourself i would buy it.

I will keep my eyes and ears out for your return, as I am sure it will be the biggest news on AO since you retired. I do believe that one day it will happen.

If the whole 50cal thing comes to fruition, my only hope is that AGD will turn out something to fit into that market. I'd hate to be forced out of my mag.

I've been happily surprised by the state of paintball today though after a 3 year hiatus - I was never really much of one for the tournament scene (even though I did participate in it to some degree) and it's what ended up pushing me away from paintball.

When I came back a few weeks ago I was expecting to see 500bps markers and even more hardcore tournaments but it appears the scene is changing (and for the better, from my perspective.)

So, maybe we can still hold out some hope that things will continue to swing around and we'll see a new mag - maybe even a new cocker with some new elves. Wouldn't that be something.

The cocker i wouldn't be expecting, at least not one like the old cockers. Bud is no longer owner/ceo of the company, it's been bought a few times since he sold it. You could definitely tell when he was no longer in the company at all though, they started producing clones of other markers rather than producing cockers.

No, cockers had elves. That's why they shot farther and were more accurate. Now the elves went to live in DM9s I believe.

Ohhh yeah, then what put the ball in the breech of a mag with a level 10? gnomes?

Edit: Oh wait, that was elves too. Dang, AGD stole WGP's elves, which explains why the cocker stopped being made after a while.
