Price check on "dream" gun, Alias & Empire timmy

    Hey AO,
A few guys around the office are talking about getting together to play a few times a year. That development coupled with a possible resurrection of TxBall might be enough to draw me into paintball a few times a year.

One gun I have always had a soft spot for is the Empire(first gen) and Alias timmys. What do they cost these days? Are there any accessories I should look for? Are maintenance items like o-rings and solenoids available?

Hey GT, go to elitedealseeker.com and put in the name of the marker you are looking for, with a time out of about 10 days. It generally will give you a good feel for what things are actually moving for.

TXball? That would be fun. The first one was one of the greatest times ever. Not sure how many people crashed at my place that weekend but it was a lot. Not sure we were ever on time to the field but oh what a great event!

The Empire timmy was kind of a 1.5 gen. Half way between the older intimidators (bolt length etc) and the Alias (newer shorter grip frame style).

Tough to say if the X-Mag body or the Empire Timmy are my favourite body designs that I've made ever but it's close.

You can pick up an Alias or Empire timmy used for very little money.

You can even pick up a brand new Alias from BLAST for around $500 if you want. Not sure if they have any Empire bodies and I doubt it. Call Blast and ask them. Ask for Matt.

Simon yours may have been the first one I shot at TxBall. Maybe it was TxBall 2, can't remember it was way to long ago. I've always wanted one because of the unique design. Probably one of the best branding jobs to intagrate the logo into empire's flag ship marker. I have a few offers extended to folks on PBN. I am trying to find one with as few "ups" as possible. I also found one place that still has alias' in stock, but thanks for the lead.

Check the AO meet forum for info on a possible TxBall meet. Not sure why the meets fizzidled...

I have ebay'd (bought) a 2k5 dragon timmy and an alias for less than $250 each about one and two years ago. They both needed work, but they were for fun anyway. I find them a little delicate compared to a mag, but the weight and efficiency deliver what I need on occasion. I think I spent about $100 on each one on asa's, rails, rams/caps, lprs, etc. They do rip well, but they are not so friendly to being cleaned, under lubed, or over lubed.

I thought if I bought a timmy that I wouldn't need an ep mag, but they are not the same.

Bob Long is selling brand new updated Aliases with some 2009 goodies for $500. Mike over at Tech PB highly recommends them.

keep an eye on newspaper classifieds too, we have an online newspaper classifieds here in utah that everyone uses and people often sell cheap to move them quickly. I found an alias with evil paintball pants and egg 3, and an out of hydro pure energy 68/4500 for my friend that he got for 250 about 3 weeks ago and it had a cp reg and on/off + rail and was in like new condition other than some really old paint on it. Keep your eye out on other venues is all i'm saying
