LaW is right.... that feed system is identical to the old FA from years ago... which chewed paint like it was full of razor blades. The body of the gun may be different, but it's probably a rehash of old ideas for another purpose.

      Ok.......Heres my 2 cents on 2 cents.....

That marker (or as some of you see it, gun) looks like Tippmann took every single gun they made, and put it on that thing. It has the old Factory FA star feeder, a palmers reg (Tippmann RT kit...just a larger version), some sort of wierd plastic front grip , a ASA-mounted bottomline (which I guess isnt a bad idea), then a M98 cast aluminum body with some pointless lame milling on it. Theres no origionality on the thing....

Its just kinda like a M98-E-Pro/FA or something (reffering to the ProCarb...a mix of 2 guns, it seems Tippmann is mixing the M98 with a factory FA)

By the way, that IS the star feeder. Remember that "piston paddle" hopper Tippmann was advertising? They're taking elements from it and putting it on the star feeder.

Actually its an updated loader system. The old FA loader has to be hand wound and was finicky if im not mistaken, but this new loader is pneumatically operated if you look at the side of the gun closely. It is rumored to handle a decent feed rate.

Wow, that gun looks incredible. If thats how their coming out, I'll be waiting in line at the store. Those who are afraid that it will give paintball and "association with real guns" need to take a step back and think about the basis of the sport. The un-pc aka "reality" is we are a bunch of guys who go out and shoot each other with GUNS. Doesn't matter if you point that, a cocker, an Angel, or a 'mag at a cop, you are getting shot. So I really don't see it as a big deal. If it goes into production, I'll put a fake HK mag over that line just for addtional looks. I do own a E-Mag, but I must say that thing is very cool.

i dont belie the old FA's had to be hand wound i do belive they worked off the guns own force, but they would bind up and cause a terrable mess. since then im sure tippman has figured out where they went wrong. i dont think they are the type to make the same mistake twice, and if they did im sure they would make right on it some how. tippman has 2 things workin for them products that are damn near industructable and reliability, lord if my bro's m98 has gone down ONCE (a cut o-ring in the valve). I have a feeling ben tippman knows better than to ruin there rep in either of these feilds.
Tom was the last of a now extinct breed, a breed of players who build a community, a breed of owners who gave to the sport never taking more than what they deserved. I hope to see you at the feild again some day....

I don't see how that cn really ook like a real gun once it's hooked up to a tank and hopper. From a distance don't all tippmans look kind of the same? I mean they are all black and have their feeds on the right side. From a distance someone probable would think it was any old tippy. Also if someone thinks you could scare someone with this well then if you really look at it doesn't anyone get scared when they are looking down a barrel? My friend has a mexican camo Adreanalin angel and it looks funky, but still when he points it at me even after I've examined it I still get scared. So in a way it doesn't really matter does it?

The only part that looks like a HK is the grip and the front sight. It has no magazine, and with a tank you lose all compactness of the MP5-K. The barrel on a HK like that only sticks out a few inches, not 8. From the looks of the pictures its tippmann designed. Tippmann does make stuff for military training too. I like the idea of the cocking rod thing close to the front(no rod thing sticking out hitting you). It shows wear on it suggesting its either old or well tested. My guess is that it will never be sold to the public but if it does, i hope it is the same quality as other tippmanns. It looks like a step in the wrong direction(long trigger pull unlike m98).

Talked to Tippman today, it is for real and is targeted at the rec ballers. Can't say more than that, it's their product.

Just to clue some of you in............

There are a bunch of folks out there that only play rec ball and never will play court ball, for lots of reasons. I started playing PB about 1983. Still play and own only Tippmanns. The only other gun I ever seriously considered was the automag, but too heavy and is touchy with CO2.

I will not own a marker that requires HPA, external regulators or drop forwards to be balanced. Woods ball is a whole different game. Shiny, flashy markers that need batteries and tinkering all day just don't do it for us. Those of us who also like speedball have other markers for that task. Pick the tool for the job at hand.

So I can understand why some of you don't get the new A-5, but the bunch I hang with can't wait. We don't care if it's not NPPL legal.

                          Happy Hunting

looking at it, you probally wont be able to add a drop forward unless there will be some kind of adapter you can buy

Tippmann has some balls. Going againist the flow I'd say! Now if only they made a sidearm. Perhaps a SOCOM replica.

Well I'm curious as to what's going to happen, re-releasing a failed product (probably improved upon) but oh well sounds interesting enough...
