As stated earlier, have any of you seen a airsoft gun before? There is no reason to get all flustered about these guns. Look at my website where I sell airsoft guns, half of the bodies on those gun are made by the same manufacturer that makes the real ones. All they do is cover up the their logo with electrical tape.

Here is an image of one of the fully automatic replica MP5-SD3 guns that we sell:

I know that it is a bad quality image but that is all I had to work with at the time when I put them on the site.

That thing looks cool. I kind of liek the rec-ball military view. The only reason for that is I like the whole idea of technology behind all the equipement.

I don't know if anyone else is thinking the same thing I am, but maybe there is some sort of new firing mechanism. A new response trigger or maybe electro. It looks unlikely from the pictures, but it would only make sense to put a rotating loader on a gun if I could atain a high rate of fire (hence, something new!)

      Those are my thoughts
      I wish I wasn't broke....

i think that thing looks pretty cool, and i'd probably buy one(after an emag, of course). i don't understand people's objection to markers looking like guns. the way i see it, there are two distinct forms of paintball: recball and tournament play. each has their own distinct persona, if you will. the recballers don't really need an electro gun, and a tourny player doesn't really need an MP5 look alike.

i don't care what anyone else says, i want one.

who cares if paintball guns look like firearms, at one time most of them did. the NRA even helped out paintball at one time with legal problems. but because paintball has distanced itself from guns and the NRA to a extent, i doubt that they would help us out again.
As society and the problems that face it become more and more complex and machines become more and more intelligent, people will let machines make more of their decisions for them, simply because machine-made decisions will bring better results than man-made ones. Eventually a stage may be reached at which the decisions necessary to keep the system running will be so complex that human beings will be incapable of making them intelligently. At that stage the machines will be in effective control. People won't be able to just turn the machines off, because they will be so dependent on them that turning them off would amount to suicide

sometimes I just freaking hate people. which means the next day I will love them for the sake of balance, but right now I will just concentrate on the hating. Hate hate hate. Blaaaarg! ;)

All you people who whine about this thing looking like a real gun need to get a life. This gun looks like every other Tippmann out there. And, when you slap a tank and hopper on it, I can guarantee that it's going to look like a paintball gun.

I for one will probably buy this gun to use as a backup. Either that or a reactive Model 98. I'm mostly a Rec-Baller, and I currently shoot a Retro MiniMag as my primary gun.

This thing will sell like hot cakes. Tippmann guns are durable, reliable, and their service is second to none, just like AGD. There are only two companies I will consider when purchasing paintguns, and they are AGD and Tippmann.
It is no accident that these two companies have great reputations. They make sturdy, reliable products and they stand behind them. I offer them my thanks.

              Oh boy, where to start....

First, the A-5 isn't a copy of anything, especially a failed concept, it's a new concept that's going to take a lot of people by surprise once it's been handled & shot.
I also want to clear up seveal misconceptions I've read in here. The F/A "IS" a hand wound spring drive and it did tend to chop a lot of balls, I know, I have one but have modified it to work fine. The A-5 uses a pnuematic drive loader that doesn't chop anything, even at it's max. 16 bps firing speed.
Nothing in the design is for looks, it's all functional. Field stripping doen't require removal of any screws and can be completely stripped in less than 60 sec.
Tippmanns aren't just for uninformed newbies, we have a very successful rec team with a lot of members that have been playing for over 10 years and most of us have Tippmanns because they are ALWAYS going to work, are deadly accurate in the right hands and can be worked over by the owner to do whatever you want it to do....then there are the upgrades and aftermarket pieces to make it perform or look like you want.
The Tippmann Ordinance group that make all the cannons, moratars & stuff don't have any affiliation with Tippmann Pnuematics, only the squdbuster granades are TP's.
For the guys that are worried about it looking too much like a real gun....come on, get a grip, find something else to complain about.

damn, i am almost sorry to say that i love my Mag after reading some of these comments.

hey, to each his or her own. if you don't like it, then don't buy it. i know for a fact, that i do like some of the steps taken by Tippmann to introduce something that is not the same old, same old. its not like another spyder/VM-68 clone. no, they cam out again, with something that is totally new and totally different. first the M98 and the clamshell design(which so far, has worked very well), and now the A-5.

no, the pneumatic star loader, isn't a blend'o matic, it has worked through a test run at the Condor's game, by 2 teammates of mine, as well as a Tech at Tippmann(the guy pictured in the pics). Tippmann, like AGD does not put out products that can't live up to the name of Tippmann. its been thought of, since last year(with the Warpig article about the prototype of the new star feeder), and has successfully gone through a testing in actually game conditions. plus, the star feed could draw alttention to things that run along the same lines, like the bent propellers that people have recently put in their revies, and new feeders that incorperate something of a similar design like the Halo.

so, all i can say is calm your arses down, and stop acting like such biggots to Tippmanns. its seems to me that since Mags(though i tend to disagree) have been religated to above low end guns, that you have to show your supieriority over them. talk about such bigots. if the RT or E-mag had recieved such a introduction, would you be takan the same approach or stand that you haven given the Tippmann A-5?

I resent that. I happen to be a tourny player who LOVES to play scenario and recball. I own an automag, been playing for nearly 12 years, so I don't think I am a 'newbie' any more. What is wrong about pretending to play war? didn't you do that as a kid? hell, they're paintball GUNS no matter how you put it. Have some fun, go to a scenario game, it's WAY more fun then tourny games....

Well they did get theyr Cyclone hopper right. People... it may look ugly but it can feed as fast as you can fire, 18+bps... and it takes the place oof intelli-fying.. becuase it fires on each shot. Thats the only reason I'd want one. That and hte neat cocking action. Thats the only thing I dun like baout my mag- you cant cock it all matrix-ish like blowback markers!

I dread the day someone walks down the street with one and gets shot by a cop or something.

And, unlike airsoft guns.. these guns do not have an orange tip on their barrels. Some might say "well the barrel is huge and a normal HK doesnt haev a long barrel like that" well to someone who doesnt know about guns or to somomne at night it looks real enough. And what happens when some kid takes off the barrel and goes around hte block to scare some kids with it... and gets shot up?

I mean yes if you are close and you know about HK's guns you can EASILY tell.. but if its dark or if your not well educated in the field.. well it would freak u out.

Why do people keep saying paintball isen't a war game? Paintball is a war game and will always be one. War games involve people shooting at each other, paintball involves people shooting each other. Instead people say paintball is different since it is a team sport with people working together but a war game is also has teams working together. Since painball is a war game it just seems reasonable to make markers look more like real guns.just me 2cents.

if paintball is a war game. Then playing tag is like pretending to stab your friends as they run away.

The only reason to worry about your marker looking like a real gun is if you plan to tote it around the local neighborhood, brandishing it like a real gun! When I lived in San Jose, CA some idiot was pointing his paintball gun out of his home window at people walking by. The cops were alerted and they raided the house. The cops couldn't tell if he had an actual gun or not. Since most players I know do not go around pointing their markers at people walking in the neighborhood, they don't need to worry about anything. It may not be an actual firearm but it should be treated with respect because others might mistake them for the real thing.

YOu guys need a reality check. It is true form follows function. For an experianced paintballer the Automag/autococker/angel is perfect. It also takes 1-2 years of playing to master tucking in aiming and shooting. You do not shoot your mag like a gun. If you do you are missing more than you should. You can shoot a Tippman like a gun or at least a lot closer. It is a more natural aiming stance for most people. Tippman is marketing to there strong suite. The wreck ball and Scenario marker. Trust me in the middle of a scenario I would generally rather have a well tuned electro Tippman than an Angel or E-mag. Now put me on a Hyperball field and the Angel or Emag are the way to go. It is a different style of play. As fare as looking to much like a real gun?? Give me a break. It is a comfortable form worked out over time not a replica of anything. If you play in tourneys you may never see one but as for us scenario Junkies they look interesting and I cannot wait to see one in the flesh.
