Its Palmers, call them, tell them your dilemna at testing it. I will bet that they tell you to test it, and will take it back if it fails.

Best to contact them and explain - I'm sure they will be more than happy to work with you. Despite some past issues, their customer service is still 1st rate.

Test the thing in a more "normal" installation, even if it doesn't actually do anything.

This is definitely weird for Palmers. ALL the dealings I've had with them were 105% satisfaction, and 110% after they fixed things when they mess up (which everyone does once in awhile.

Unusual for Palmers, when I've ordered things from them it usually only takes 3-4 days to get to the UK and they're always in perfect condition.

I've gotten new macro fittings that already had tape on them. Maybe Palmers does that also?

Also if there is a mistake on their part, you should not have to pay for shipping again. Its not like you ordered something and changed your mind about the color after receiving it.

As far as i could tell without hooking it up it was new. If some more people post saying they received fittings with Teflon already on them that will give me piece of mind...

I've seen em pre taped too.

FYI: Palmer's moved offices this month. That may have had something to do with the delay and/or confusion.

I would hook it up with no fitting, close the reg so no air will come out the low pressure output, if no leak then open the reg just a little to vent out the low pressure output port and it should be a working reg.

When I received my fatty stabilizer from them, it was taped. It's probably "policy" that they don't tape it, but someone over there isn't paying attention to that policy and is doing a little extra work.

Like the others said, just call to make sure that they'll take it back after you test it. If they sent you something messed up, they should pay to make it right with no more money on your part. You may have to wait longer, but hey.... that's life. Sometimes it doesn't work out perfectly. But Palmers will make it right.

Wrong thread, lost where this had gone....

I go back to original answer - its Palmers, I am 99% sure if you call them they will tell you to try it.
