    Store robbery

So today my store was robbed...

First of all, the name of the place is Arrowhead Trading Post and it is in Burbank, Illinois, and if anyone has or finds any info pertaining to this I'd be grateful if you post here or PM me.
It is a southern suburb of Chicago, so anything in the Chicagoland area has potential.

What happened was, today (Monday October 12th) at approximately 4:30pm a small group of about 5-6 African American individuals in late-teens to early 20s entered interested in paintball gear.

One of them asked to see one of our Invert Minis, and talking to him about it he wanted to try to shoot it. We put an airtank on it and dry fired it, then handed it over to let him try it. Asking what else it needed to play, we put a hopper in the feedneck.

At around this time, I was up on a step-stool putting a gun back on the wall, when I hear a commotion and look over to see several people and an employee of ours running out the door.

I jumped down to run out, but the store owner beat me out. Being the only employee left I blocked the entrance and phoned the police.
A chase ensued, and a customer who was just pulling in spun their car around to follow the thieves.

After the commotion settled down, the customer who chased them came back and handed us the Mini explaining that it was thrown at their vehicle and landed in a yard.
Amazingly, the Mini, and Crossfire tank were not even scratched! The hopper was just a gravity feed, and only suffered some scrapes. Unfortunately, since the gun was handled so much it could not be used for prints.
However, we did get a liscense plate and filed a police report.

But here is where you guys come in. What the thieves DID get away with, was a Tippmann X-7 with a full M-16/M-4 kit on it that was on display atop a counter.

It has a DEMO badge on the side of it, and is a serial number 0050609.
It had a Tippmann 14" Pathfinder barrel, and the carry handle was cracked on the back from it being dropped. It also had a cheap, spring-hinge bi-pod on it, but that is the least of our concerns.

If anyone sees this for sale or in a store, don't hesitate to link me to the ad or tell me the whereabouts.

They probably won't get far, the group of people most commonly play in the streets and stuff gets confiscated all the time. They also have the plate number and vehicle description so if they are local we can find them. And I don't think they would be smart enough to part it out, so it should be an easy target if it goes up for sale.

Again, thanks for any help in advance. I hope these guys can be brought to justice...

That's terrible. I've shopped at Arrowhead for used camo and misc. paintball stuff for the last 10+ years. I doubt the individuals involved will be smart enough to get away with this though...they might even be dumb enough to point that thing at someone who doesn't know it's a paintball gun, and a robbery charge will be the least of their worries.

            Velociraptors!

You'll be walking through the jungle, and see a velociraptor in the distance, right in front of you.

Maybe it sees you. Maybe it doesn't. It doesn't move towards you. You freeze while you think what to do.

And that was the velociraptors purpose. Of course he saw you! He wanted you to see him. He wanted you to not notice the two other velociraptors running at you from the sides, flanking you.

            And then you are dead.

Jurassic Park, teaches all sorts of fundamental lessons.

Hey watcher you should keep a bunch of frozen paintballs and bust out the RT Pro of yours and light'em up. Sorry to hear about that man. No doubt they will eventually be caught. Its just what else they might get a hold of before that happens. Good Luck to you and I will be keeping my eyes open here in the north subs.

First of all, I'm not going to be taking the law into my own hands. If I did, I'd probably have a higher sentance than the person commiting the crime
If I was the one that chased the guys out, I probably would have used my knife handle as a hammer and cracked their car window or something...

Secondly, I'm considering not ever bringing my RT Pro to my shop again. I usually bring it to tinker with when the store is slow and to show off to some of the more paintball inclined customers, and I've shown it to more than a few people already.

To have someone walk/run out with something that not only costs quite a bit, but has exreme personal value to me would be devestating.

However, I have been informed of the Halloween craziness. We hire 2 police officers to watch the door of the store, and I'm considering taking a TPX off the wall, popping a 12ie in it (un-cracked), and loading a mag but keeping it out of the grip. If I can't stop someone, I can mark their car for police to see...

But, seeing as we have 2 cops on duty, I might just go with the wooden mallet a'la Doc Nickel...

I like that idea... Perhaps find some glow in the dark paintballs who's smear would light up even if wiped? They're fun outside of "evidence tagging" too so it's a double the incentive to pick a half-case of'em up

Nah...go with the oil based paint. Less chance of them easily washing/wipeing it off.

I dunno. I tagged one of my roomates tin signs with Kryptonite a few years back and parts of her (the pinup girl on the sign ) still glow from time to time even after being wiped down a few times. Then again, I'm fairly sure that Kryptonite was radioactive or something and I have no idea how todays glow-in-the-dark paint compares to it.

I've been through Burbank, this doesn't surprise me. I hope you get your gear back though, and more than that, I hope the guys who ripped you off get justice.

that does suck and i recently was told that shocktech of lansing(ST HQ) was broken into steeling only guns with 001 serial numbers or prototypes from gun collections at shocktech. Realy sory to hear I am deff keeping an eye open lately
