    bad eBay deal

I just need to vent a little.

I've been looking for some thermal goggles for some friends of mine and found a guy selling three profilers on eBay for $75. Seemed like a fair deal. The description had a small picture, and he claimed that all three were intact (although he did say that one was a little "banged up"), so I bought them.

They arrived today and... well.... long story short, one is missing the lens, all of them are missing the retained clips that secure the lens to the mask, and the "banged" up one actually has cracks/holes in the plastic faceguard. The lenses are scratched beyond use as well. I swear.... it looks like he ran over the things with a bulldozer.

    I demanded a refund.

I'm sure others have had worse luck... I suppose I shouldn't complain, but it irritates me when people use a good thing like eBay and just screw you over.

Oh.... and all the masks still had dirt and paint left on them from their last use. He didn't even have the decency to hose them off before shipping them out.

Never buy anything off ebay with poor quality pics. The reason they do that is to hide the flaws. Every single thing I bought off ebay with bad pics was messed up. It took a few times but I finally learned. The only good deals are the ones with lots of pictures.

Well, If he made the claim they were intact, you have a case, make sure you save the e-mails, take good pics of the masks, and have paypal do something, assuming that seller doesnt take responsibility.

          That sucks

I hate when that stuff happens.

If you paid through paypal, and with a credit card, you should be safe. First file the dispute, and worst case, challenge it through the credit card. Hopefully this guy will rectify the situation. Good luck, and if you get a chance, post his ebay name so everyone knows not to buy from that dirtbag!!!

Turns out he was very apologetic and cooperative. Everything got taken care of. He claims he "forgot" to include that the mask was missing a lens. Oh well.

No harm, no foul I guess.
