Welcome back! I left my Mag sitting in my garage for 6 years only to take it out two years ago and played with it like I had just put it away the week before. Just go to the buy/sell/trade threads here on AO, there are tons of parts for sale that you will be able to upgrade your gun with, and pretty much everyone you deal with here will treat you right, unlike some other paintball forums that have a bunch of little kids running around them not knowing how to treat others. I warn you though, you may soon find out that it's very easy to rack up a pretty good bill here.
Look through some of the official automag pictures in the Paintball talk forum here to see what some people have done and get some good ideas. Have fun, there's still a lot to be had from the great AGD.

Welcome back. That said be warned: magitis is very contagious I got into mags originally to save money but still have a high performance marker. One year later today and I'm over $1000 into my mag and have 2 other project mags I'm building for my brother and a friend.

my mag sat 9 years in a duffle bag in a storage unit that wasn't climate controlled. Pulled it out about a month ago, couple of drops of oil, and presto played with it 3 times since then and it really needed no work. not saying i didn't buy parts for it and such but it worked as is after 9 years.

And that body and valve. The polish looks amazing on the minimag body. And the air valve with the left side air adapter is definitely uncommon.Great find. Whatever you do KEEP that hopper. Those old Viewloader shells are VERY good. They do not break like the newer ones do.
I see no reason to upgrade except to switch from CO2 to HPA.

Old school tiger-stripe ftw!!!
I may be mistaken, but that barrel looks like an old J&J hardchrome. If so, you are not going to find a better shooting barrel anywhere...
I've got a brass J&J on my Vm-68 and it's a amazing. The hardchrome barrels supposedly had an even lower drag-coefficient than brass, and better durability.
