Played with my Mag for the first time yesterday!!!

Like the thread title says - and actually it's the first time I've ever played with a Mag, period. (been playing 17 years, lol.)

All I've got to say is - this gun ROCKS!!!

It's a ULE, X-valved, Lvl 10, Ult'd beast. I originally planned on getting a Mag to pneumag it (and I probably still will, lol.). But the thing is - it shoots pretty damn good just the way it is! I mowed a lot of faces yesterday...

With the ULT I can get going pretty fast with my left hand, not quite walking the trigger but still pulling about 11bps. What I'm wondering is if I'll need to go with an RT on/off for pneumagging purposes. The ULT doesn't seem to recharge fast enough to walk the trigger - but maybe it's just me.

ULT is the only way to do the Pneumag mod. Otherwise the force required to trip it will be too great.

I remember my first day playing with an automag. It was awesome, I was at the SPPL 07 at Loco GA with my college team broken arrow. I had one the ULT mod, and at one point I just hit that golden balance between tuning, and oil, and walking the trigger, on an ULT. I was sold, this was the "be all end all" of paintball guns.

Then I found the AKA Excalibur. I no longer own any Automags. I have considered buying a tac one longbow complete automag every once in a while, just cuz I think its a badass piece of history. But I still haven't.

You don't need a ult to pneumag. My first of two pneumags was on a rt on/off classic valve.

What is really weird...I have had my mags for a while, but the first time playing a game with an automag (and a warp feed) was this weekend also. It was fun, but very heavy. I too mowed faces (though with a classic, same one as in the MofM contest.).

I have 3 of them sitting here without ULTs... I guess I should just throw them out...

Yeah, that doesn't really make sense. Plenty of people seem to use RT on/off's with no problems. (if you can use an RT on/off and activate it with just your fingers - you'd think an Lpr/3-way aid would be easier, not harder.)

My main concern is that when I pull really fast or walk the trigger, sometimes the ULT doesn't reset fast enough and I get dropoff/chuffing. This is when I go beyond 12-13bps or so. Any slower and it keeps up just fine. I have around 850psi input going into the x-valve. It's my understanding that the RT on/off is still pretty easy to pull, but resets a lot faster?

So I'm wondering if when I pneumag it, the extra speed will overwhelm the ULT. If I've got to buy an RT on/off in addition to the pneumag parts, I might just wait awhile to do the whole project.

(I've got to save money for paint at some point.)

All I can say is the 1 time I tried it, I had to get an ULT because the Rt was too tough. It was broken in and all that, just couldn't get the pressure to trip it. Got the ULT and it was all good.

Sounds like I did something wrong though, or didn't do something these other maggots did.

Don't listen to mostpeople he is clouded by the AKA FAIRIES.

I would guess that I have built in the neighborhood of 25 pneumags, mostly for other's and I prefer the RT on/off to the ULT for just that reason. The RT is faster and any reactivity that it may have only helps to reset the valve faster.

You will be amazed if and when you go with the pneumag. They shoot ever bit as fast as an electro once you get the hang of walking one. They are a little different to walk than an electro and will take you a little practice you get it down but once you do it will make you even faster on an electro, I know it has helped me.

My primary maker is a pneumag, I love them, at the moment I have 4 of them in my aresenal.

Should you have any questions when you are ready for a Pneumag PM me and I will help you any way I can.

                  ......You know you want one!!

Nice guns to be sure but I gave up on those when I was sniped by some A-hole.

I own 2 Vikings and a Excal but to be honest I like my Cyborg better.

I still reach for the Mags first. For real fun try shooting an Emaggo. I build them too and if I really have the need to waste some paint that is what I will grab!

Good to know. Maybe I'll just try it with my ULT. I can add some shims to the ULT to make it a little faster too, can't I? I've got 4 installed right now. It shoots decently fast right now, but to shoot fast right handed, I need to be able to walk the trigger. My left hand is a machine that doesn't require much help. (years of playing thrash metal on guitar ) Right now the pull is just light enough to walk, but not reliably - and I think it's due to the ULT not resetting quick enough.

I can see very well why this could become my main gun. It's extremely low profile, light, simple, and most important - no batteries/eyes. My E-cocker absolutely rips and gets 2000 shots on a full tank - but it seems I'm always having to dick with the eye settings and whatnot for each and every different kind of paint - plus it's getting hard to find paint anymore that won't roll out of even my .682 barrel backs.

Yesterday I had zero issues with my Mag - no breaks, no chops, nothing. Shot very consistantly over the chrono too.

just way overlube your ULT and it will be fully automatic for awhile

I have been able to walk my ULT ONE TIME in all the years I've owned it. And I didn't do anything to it I just pulled it out of my bag and noticed pretty quickly that it was walkable. the next time I played it wasn't anymore. Still wicked fast of course, just not walkable anymore.

Mag79 is building me a pneumag and the valve I sent him has the RT on/off and he hasn't contacted me about putting in a ULT. Soooo I guess he plans on just using the RT? who knows I think I'm actually going to PM him and ask if he wants me to send him money for a ULT or not...
