question about a mag?

I recently came into a mag. i was just wanting to ask a few questions about it? It has a DYE trigger frame. and a differant type of vavle in it. the valve says phase II? what about the trigger frame? anyone seen one of these?

Seems to be an ANS back portion of the valve. Probably has an 8 hole mod or the large 4 holes one (don't remember which of the mods were applyed to the ANS Phase II).

Anyways, suposedly it increases air flow between the regulator part and the front part of the valve, providing a small gain in consistency.

Nothing unusual there. Dye made aftermerket frames for most anything for a while, and they are still fairly common to run across. The Reg half of your valve is an ANS phase 2. At one point the holes from the reg and "valve" part of the stock Mag valve did not line up and led to some shootdown at higher speed. In the time before AGD made sure to line up the holes individuals and companies tried to capitalize by offering modded valve with more holes that supposedly overcame the issue. Also not an uncommon item.

8 hole mod. I've got a brand new one sitting at home. Definitely lighter than the original reg back though.

The Dye mag frames were pretty good frames.
