thanks all for the input. would a place that fills propane tanks be a good place to look into seeing if they hydro test?

The reason I ask is that I've seen the contraption that the techs actually BUILD in order to service these regs and take them off the bottle.
I have a flatline that needs hydro, but am a little skittish about sending it in with the reg attached.

They did a tank for me too. They removed the reg also. It was close to $40.00 with the shipping and what-not. Shipped it on Wed afternoon and had it back the next Friday. No problems.
The UPS store did raise a little stink about the bottle being empty, the young cashier girl couldn't tell. She needed to get the boss so I could show him that the output was wide open, and that the guage read zero. (So much for the powers of reasoning)
