While we are on the subject of threads

For those using Norgren fittings, do they seem to stick out a lot farther than the cheaper ones? I could get the cheaper ones that I had to snug up almost flush with whatever I was screwing them into, but I can't seem to get the Norgren ones more than a few threads in, leaving at least 3 or 4 threads exposed.

I have exactly the same problem with mine. Whether it's into the valve or an ASA, they are just plain longer, like you said by about 4 threads.

I don't know that quality has much to do with it though....it's just how they're designed. My guess is these fittings were made for something other than paintball but made their way into the supply chain because they work.

Those fitting are the only ones I use so I have nothing to compare them too. You guys could always grind down the first few threads to get them closer to the body.

By cheaper, I am speaking literally. The Camozzi fittings are less expensive, but they seem to fit closer in. Problem is, they are a PIA to get to release the macroline and I am constantly fiddling with things, so I like the easier release of the Norgren fittings. Was just wondering if everyone else had the same issue or if I wasnt cranking them down enough.

Sure they are not 1/8th BSPT threaded instead of 1/8th BPT. both look the same until you compare them with tools.

Also i was not aware that Norgren offered a Push Fit style fitting rated the Pressures that Paintball requires.

They're 1/8 NPT, and pretty much the standard of what's used here in the States.

I believe those fitting are rated at 3k working. I've had mine up to 1500psi with no issues.

              Unless this is a typo...

I haven't seen anything else on the rating of those fittings.

Can you even get macroline rated to 3000psi? I've only ever seen it rated at the standard 850-1000 range. I'm sure you can get it up quite a bit higher than that but I've never had the means or motive to test it to 3000.

That 3K psi rating is a burst rating no a working pressure rating.

It'll handle 1.5k just fine. There's no need to go any higher on a mag. If you do, I would run braided line.
