    Oxygen tank Homefill systems...for paintball?

So I work in the home medical industry, and today we got in a few new oxygen concentrators, that come with a homefill system. They can basically fill an O2 tank to 3000 psi in a few hours. The tanks have a different fill nipple than our typical tanks, BUT it looks to have about the same size inlet... Now I'm wondering if it would be possible to use something like this to fill our tanks. These things can be rather expensive, but occasionally you can come across used ones online for fair prices.

Just thought about it while looking at our new inventory today. What do you guys think?

I didn't look at prices, but the first thing that comes to mind is whether its pure oxygen, or whether its normal air.

Pure oxygen might not be a good thing on the paintball field. Never know when someone might be smoking or something.

Ahh an obvious flaw in my thought process...

Oxygen concentrators filter out nitrogen using sieve beds though, finding a way to remove the filtering of the sieve beds would leave us with with typical compressed air...

The question I guess at this point is how to safely disable the filtering of the sieve beds.

Or you could just buy TK's new Shoebox compressor for 500 bucks and not have to worry about the safety implications of modifying a piece of medical equipment that operates at bomb-like pressures for use in paintball.

        Just saying

I too work in the Oxygen industry and am familiar with the systems in which you speak. most of these systems should only fill a tank to 2000-2200 psi, a few can go higher, but most will shut off after that. The next problem is the fact that they fill tanks with about 95% oxygen. Oxygen reacts with oil based products, and since paintball guns have oil based products in them plus the friction that could produce a posssible spark(rare chance but still possible) this would produce a possible combustion or fire hazard. Overall this could be possible with lots of modificatons it still probably wouldn't be worth it. The shoebox compressor would be a much better option.

Yea, reading about the ShoeBox coupled with the arrival of our new systems just had my head going...

But as I said I didn't think of the implications of Pure O2 use...

I'll hafta look more into the Shoebox cause it seems like a pretty nice system and is plenty economical... especially since I'm looking an airball field for my land.
