I actually bought a non-working one at a shop that was closing down for $5 almost 2 years ago. I never got around to fixing it. I been taking a break from paintball for the last year since buying my first house. I still have it in a box with a few other markers I plan to fix some day.Originally posted by Frizzle FryPS did anyone else have an ACI Griffin? It was like a speedball-oriented F4 Illustrator? Glad that name is hanging around, sorta.

Hey, how'd I miss that? That was my first gun, still have that thing. Nice spyder clone. I love the powerfeed neck. Didn't know how good it was at the time.
BTW, does anyone know how to get a replacement detent for those? It's like a spring segment that the ball crosses.

I had a few lying around; they used the same thing in a bunch of Ariakon markers.Originally posted by NewtHey, how'd I miss that? That was my first gun, still have that thing. Nice spyder clone. I love the powerfeed neck. Didn't know how good it was at the time.

Honestly my only quip with the Griffin was the chunky proprietary grip frame that just couldn't be replaced with something better... Granted it was OK, crisp trigger with no slop, but it was bulky and ugly in my opinion, plus it takes those funky 45 grips. Other than that it was like a Spyder but better. Still prefer the F4s smaller lower tube internals, though.

Yeah but it will be lost I feel. I saw a BT that was in the bottom of a gear bag that had rusted almost solid while the Tippmann next to it was fine...Originally posted by Frizzle FryThe "TRIUMPH" series was really bad... I know they talked about going rental-only with the 98 before, and it seems like BT has gained some ground in the rental field.
BT just makes a lower quality productGiant flying dogs are gonna give you a flame-thrower enema!!!

If I remember the story correctly wasn't someone playing with the famous swamp thing tippman from Canobie Paintball at their last big game?
For those who don't know about what I call the swamp thing tippman (not sure if it has a nickname), its prior user found himself sharing a bunker with a fairly large snake and freaked out leaving the field of battle. He returned many many hours later sans his pants and equiptment. The marker was found many years later in sort of buried a swamp next to a tree with a mask and pods beside it- Tank still attached.

Sorry to necro this thread, but...
Drix, I was at that game, didn't know about the Swamp Thing. I did see some fairly haggard Tippmanns out there.
I still have the 98 STO that I found (by driving over it) about 2ft down in the mud during an especially rainy day at Friendly Fire in Upton. It was 100% original, and except for the feedneck being snapped off by my truck tire, it cycled pretty well after being hosed off (some sort of 'cocker voodoo, I was shocked). Odd thing was it was 2007 when we found it, and the thing looked brand spanking new. Beer-fueled speculation has lead to us believing it was lost during Hurricane Irene having just seen its first day of play and was preserved in the soil for almost a decade.

No pods?!?Originally posted by DrixI'm going to have to start looking at the ground more often, I've never found a gun on the field, best I've ever come up with was a fill nipple cover.
I usually find so many it's not possible to bring them all back to the staging area!
I think kids chuck'em like empty magazines in Call of Duty
By the way, that 'cocker was in the far end of the parking lot, not even the field.
