I don't know anything about web designing

I know my way around it after it's been setup but that's about it. I think the best person to talk to about this would be Mongoose. See who did his site.

There's a few places that can help you with the site. Some places are free but limited but that's all you need.

Do a search for "start your own website". A bunch of stuff will come up.

Only money that will be coming out of your pocket would be for your domain name which is like $10 a year or something along those lines.

I think a friend of mine did his with Webstarts.com.

looking for a reliable web host can be a bit of a daunting task if you aren't exactly sure what you are looking for. with so many 'too good to be true' offers floating around and every host out there somehow touting multiple 'host of the year' awards from fly-by-night webhost review sites that are clearly bias. often overlooked is the fact that hosting review sites are merely a medium used to make money off referral programs. it can be tidious to wade through it all, and one must do their research. Also be skeptical about individuals who point you towards a host using a referral link (pretty easy to spot: if its not www.somerandomwebhost.com and moreso www.somerandomwebhost.com/ap/somedude01=1337, there is a very solid chance its a referral program), because keep in mind they get credits towards their account/money for bringing more people aboard.

a few questions you need to resolve before moving on:

do I want a static site or a dynamic site? (html vs php/asp/ror/cf)
(this is key in determining what kind of hosting you need as not every webhost offers all styles of servers and support.)

will I need a storefront with a checkout?

will I be building it or having it done for me? (if you arent building the site and having a third party make it for you, I would suggest they make the decision of what type of hosting package you will need)

if you are making it yourself; be realistic about what kind of traffic you will draw. lets face it, most anno sites will not need one of those 'unlimited storage and bandwidth' plans.

while not naming a top choice, a few hosting companies I've dealt with are: midphase, inmotion hosting.

and that, my friends, is the tip of the iceberg.

back OT: that is a sweet anno job.

I'm not sure if it's kosher, but I'll recommend a couple hosts I've had experience with over the years that are awesome both in product AND support.

you should be able to do that... have your own domain name and e-mails that are linked to it.

i ran a site for a while as part of my grad school project and used godaddy as the host. it was just a handfull of dollars per month to have my material hosted, my own domain name, a database, and e-mail accounts under the domain name. i think i spent friday evening and most of a saturday just teaching myself about how to do it and re-learning how to hand code html. as a recall, godaddy was helpful and fairly easy to figure out.

Nice ano. My wife has set up a couple of simple sites using yahoo webhosting service. Pretty cheap and basic diy thing. Might be worth checking:

Find trusted local service providers for moving, roofing, plumbing, painting, pest control and more, along with expert advice, help and how-tos, tips and recommendations to ensure successful projects.

I sent you a PM the other night. I'm guessing the answer is..

                      "What, are you on CRACK?!?!?"

                      LOL...
