I've used Dye locklids for the past 5 years. Never once has a pod "opened accidentally". Never had a collar come off. That's all user error.

Dye locklids are not the greatest for speedball. If you play that, get cheap pods because they will get lost, stolen and stepped on.

I snagged a six-pack of Transpods awhile back and found them to work well enough. I haven't had a single problem with them. They're not worth the premium some places try to charge, but I got mine as a package for $12, so they cost the same as just about any other generic pod.

Any smooth plastic pod works fine for me. I like the $2 variety.

Dye. I used to be a ref, and so I've collected my fair share of pods. The Dye ones always seemed to hold up the best.

            Can't beat free ones though.

I use mostly the 32* chrome plated ones I picked up on clearance a couple of years back. Biggest issue with them seems to be the pin coming out when you wash them and the spring goes awol. Luckily, I bought a dozen or so of them and still enough that are useable. I wish I could find more of them though. .....

I bought a 24-pack of the cheap pods from Action Village. I think they're actually from paintballgear.com. They ended up being <$1 each. I haven't had any problems with any of them. I haven't had one open in my pack and their easy to pop open. Since they're so inexpensive, I don't cry if I forget one on the field after a game. I just grab a new one out of the box.

I'm still using the Dye Locklid Pods. Don't know if they're still making them or not, since it's been a while since I've bought any real legit paintball gear.

I totally agree. The Fatboy pods have been the best 1 piece cheap pods I've used. My friends and I pitched in and bought a bunch, 30 or so probably and we just share them. They are great to add into your shopping cart to get free shipping if your only a few dollars off.

I lose to many pods or have them stolen off the field to buy expensive pods. I did use the APP Snapp pods way back and liked them but when the rubberbands wear down they are useless. They work good with fresh rubber bands but after a while the naturally wear out.

APP makes fantastic pods. Damn near indestructable, and well thought out. GH, They make those Pinochio pods for Pinochio. I've had the APP version, and they didn't fit in my vest. Built like a tank though.

A lot of private lable pods are actually manufactured by APP under their logo service.

Anyone care to educate me as to why you like locklid pods? I have always hated them, my teammates have always hated them, hell, if we found in in our pods at an event, they were soon in the garbage.

Our team owner usually bought us a few cased of genx global pods at each event, they worked great.

The fatboy pods are also great, maybe a little slower to find the tab, but they will hold up longer over heavy use.

I have an entire box of these too. IMO, the best pods are the cheapest pods because you always loose them.

If anyone is looking for those Dye ones, I know Tuna still has a bunch in the pile

I must be one of the only people that hate dye locklid pods. Maybe it's the ones I got. I purchased them when they first were made and I have issues where they would open when I pull them out of my pack & I would dump a pod of paint. These pods were also too fat for my dye pack as the pack would really really stretch to fit them in and in my raven pack they were fine but they still would open when I pulled them off of my back.

I love fatboy pods though. I've never broken one and the lids work amazing for closing and opening.

I'll use the generic smooth sided pods that everyone slaps a name on (SpecOps, Valken, Diablo, DraXxus, etc), they seem to hold up fine for me., plus I can get them from my work for dirt cheap if I need more.

My favorites, though, are two I got with my Flurry vest. They are APP, IIRC, smoked, with a very fat lip on the lid for your thumb. They seem to hold up pretty well, and the plastic they used is flexible enough not to crack and solid enough not to bend.
If I run pump with 2 pods in my pack it's these 2.
