Anyone used one? I like some of the concepts of it. Reading reviews it seems pretty decent.
Thoughts on Empire Axe?

Essentially a supersized Invert Mini from my understanding. I beleive they share the same internals.Originally posted by ShirowAnyone used one? I like some of the concepts of it. Reading reviews it seems pretty decent. -
Yeah, larger mini for people who are taller than 4'9" tall. I held one, seemed much more agreeable than the mini I had for a bit. The main thing that sucked about the mini was that the main thing that went wrong with them was NOT user serviceable and requred a trip back to KEE for repairs. I think Mongoose sent his mini back about a dozen times.
Oh, and I beleive the feednecks are easily removeable too Shirow

Yeah, that's the bad thing I've read about them too. I was kinda looking at that or an Etek 3 potentially.Originally posted by BigEvilYeah, larger mini for people who are taller than 4'9" tall. My local field offers free membership (normally costs $100 a year) if you buy a gun from them and I'm going to end up paying for the membership anyway.. so it means that, in a roundabout way, I could get an Axe or an Etek3 for about $350 if I just buy that instead of paying for the membership.
Glad to hear about the feednecks

A lot of crap has gone around about the Mini, which is what the Axe essentially is, BUT the local field has a demo Axe and I have to say it shoots freakin' amazing. I'm not sure what the bore is on the barrel, probably .689, but it shoots darts and I wasn't breaking at all. My biggest gripe is that they don't have an on/off button for the eyes but really... how often are you going to turn the eyes off during a day of play? The tool-less bolt is a pretty nifty little feature. I notice the ergonomics of my PM7 isn't really what I'd like because of how close my hands are but several markers that I would compare the Axe to are an RT length 'mag, Cyborg RX or Clone.
The Axe is comfortable, easy to maintain, shoots darts and there really isn't anything you need to buy for it from the aftermarket. I know I personally plan on waiting to see if they come out with an OLED Axe before I get one, though.Comment

If the board is the same on the Axe as the Mini, all you have to do to turn the eyes off is power down the marker, hold the trigger back and power it back up.
Honestly, I have yet to actually play with the Mini I picked up beyond blowing through hopper of paint in my back yard giggling like a school girl, but seems ok so far. You can pick them up pretty cheap right now and as long as you get one of the later gens, seems like the bugs have mostly been worked out.
As for looks, I like em. Kind of remind me of an E-mag, but smaller and able to get more than 500 shots out of a 3k/68ci tank. ... And lighter... MUCH lighter.Comment

That is the only way I would purchase one. I am no longer willing to count blinking lights. This is 2011 there is no reason we should be using blinking lights still.Originally posted by KurtPBI know I personally plan on waiting to see if they come out with an OLED Axe before I get one, though.Comment

I sell more mini's then I do axes onoy reason is price and its only a 150.00 dollar difference besides the relay asa and the push button release. Trigger is to stiff for being stock, and the manual is on cd not very field user friendly does shoot overall nicely and is quiet but not my cup of teaComment

My understanding is you can put the mini virtue board in it but the panel doesn't fit correctlyComment
