Some of these pics show why, besides potentially ruining a perfectly good X valve, that unless you are getting a solid color, I would stay away from doing it. Hill, while I think the overall ano is nice, the fact that the halves of the valve don't line up drives me freaking crazy. I have an X here that was literally given to me, minus some of the internals, that has the same issues. Ano is nice, but the halves don't line up and it kinda looks like crap. It also took Tuna some effort to get it to seal back up properly and function. I know it doesnt seem like it now, but you WILL eventually want/have to sell off some of these and partability is always a plus when trying to get your money back out of it.

so just to understand and simplify what you are saying.

i should get solids done and try not to have many colors put on the x-valves.

      is this correct?

      thankyou,

I think he's saying that if you choose to get the X valves annoe'd you should go with solid colors for them instead of other designs. You run the risk of the two different aluminum types annoing differently between splashed, acid washes, etc...

Good thing I like gloss black so I don't need to worry about such things.

I'm saying that IMO, it looks terrible when the valve halves don't line up which seems to happen a lot when a pattern is attempted. Take Hills for example, The lines on the front half of the valve don't line up with the back half, nor do they line up very well with the body. I have a valve that matches the body I posted in your other thread, again, the back half doesnt match the front. Not only is the pattern off, so is the color. I just think it throws the whole thing off. If it were me, I would stick with dark solid colors on the valves, or better yet, leave em alone unless they are heavily scratched.

They offered me a do over on those parts and I chose not to. My mistake probably, Since the valve was plugged it would not have messed up any tolerances. Nor did I have any trouble reassembling it when it comes to leaks. Took out the bag of parts i took out of it, and it all fit like a glove. This was just a hard request with all the parts and no real layout, another first time mistake on my part.

Ask bazooka if this was a hard anno job, trying to keep the lines strait, even and spaced could not have been easy as well as getting the other parts to lay out. And there were three or four different types of aluminum if I remember right. If I had sent in a single marker pre assembled it may have turned out differently. Instead I sent in a collection of 37 parts, because it would be used in one of a dozen different configurations.

anyone found a purple that is good that i can give to my anodizer bazooka.

i need all colors of purple you guys have come across.
              and a green.

i need these to be real sharp, not like a lime color consistancy, but more sharp.

please this is a big help.

              thankyou again,

Please don't take my post as a criticism, while it's not my taste, it is still an awesome job overall. I was just using yours as an example since I didnt have a picture handy of mine. I took a pic, here is what I am talking about using my valve as an example:

Note how the pattern is different on both halves of the valve,, the body and the rail. Again, this is in no way a criticism of either the previous owner (he gave the valve to me for free) or the anodizer. Just trying to show what can happen when you try to pattern ano a valve.

I kind of agree with OPBN. If you are ever going to sell the markers and you end up parting some of them, which is how most are selling right now. A multi colored x valve will be hard to sell. I am in the same boat, a mag thay needs to be done but not sure if I want to do x valve or rt valve to match. Tho one good thing is I. Probably never getting rid of this one. And if you look around solid color x valves usually sell well and fast. You can always get the x valve done in the most dominate ano color that you are using for that marker.

Hahaha yeah I know and that's why I said probably. OPBN also I hate to see you in pain, so you should send that ugly not matching x valve over my way and out your site for good.
