Blowback only Tourny?

Ok, there is a tourny sponsored by Brass Eagle...here's details.

The "Road To World Cup" is designed for blowback markers only. Team
>eligibility is limited to amateur, novice, and rookie players. The
>format for the tournament is 3-man center flag using universal rules

Ok, what is blowback only? Are they saying that you can't use Automags? Isn't a mag blowforward? Are they discriminating?

no they aren't, just like the spyder cup, they can do whatever they want, wanna have an angels only tourny, THEY CAN, its not the government, its paintball, you dont own a blowback or a spyder or whatever? buy one or dont play, company may lose money if you dont play, if you DO play that means that you have bought the type of marker that they want you to have, such as when the EM1 came out, those things were like 400-500 bucks, whatever, and everyone bought them for the spyder cup, then they found out, they sucked

Why pick blowback only?? there are many Non-Brass eagle blowback guns. They wouldn't make an extra dime if you had..an EM1 or something. And they have a "discount" for brass eagle markers???? why say blowback only. i find this very wierd. Who cares if it's blowback. am i missing something?? Ive seen stuff like.. no electros, or stock only, or no HPA, stuff like that... Blowback???? who cares -

the kingman refference was made to the spyder cup, in which all markers must be kingman

i was using it as an example, anyways brass eagle can do whatever they want, and believe it or not many many people will go, because they give out lots and lots of stuff

its really the same type of thing as "electro only" or stock class\, its just blowback only, may be a little odd, but so what? maybe they are unveiling a new blowback marker??

We do this every year. Well...for the last two anyway. We call it "Spyder Class" rightly or wrongly. "Blow back only" might actually be a better term for it. The theory is that it evens the field somewhat and prevents a group of "Hot Rods" from taking the thing over completely. We have a lot of newbies come out there for this. And we play Hopper Ball at the same time with these. The idea was to introduce unfamiliars to a tourny type competitive scene and get more people into paintball. Hopefully fostering intra-collegate rivalry and bring out more folks for the club and club field use through rentals etc. that way.


Remember this was why I stared the Spyder Project. To have one for this annual event.

Having shot the Black Dragun, some of those cheap blow-backs are stupid fast, in good hands they can keep up with a Angel or Defiant with stock settings. What the local tourney circuit(GTPL) seems to have done is made rookie no nitro and 1 electro per team. I'm actually looking for a team to play rookie in it right now, with my Automag setup to run CO2.

The GT doesn't allow HPA for rookie? Sheesh.
