First Mag Owner, Help W/ Questions?

Hello guys and girls and thank you for taking the time to read my post. I have done much research on the mag' and see they have somewhat of a legendary following.
I play speedball though, and we alternate with woodsball too.
I already have an invert mini, souped up Ion, and a tippmann a-5 with egrip. im wondering if i really needed to buy this mag. the rate of fire is just so slow for me.
I am wondering what upgrades can be done to it, or should i just sell it?
if i chose to sell it, how much can i get for it? it has a custom drop forward. but other than that just a regular 68 mag. i paid 100 for it. let me know guys, thanks.

If it works and has a Classic valve with Level 7, then you can probably get anywhere from $80 to $110 back out of it depending on its current cosmetic condition. Mags hold their resale value better than other paintball guns it seems. They don't resell for what they sell for new, but from owner to owner they don't drop in value all that much.

You can make a mag as custom or as fast as you want. You've got emags, pnuematic conversions, electro-pnuematics, electronic frames, etc. They can be made to shoot just as fast as any new marker out there. I own a Geo 2.1 and an Ego 11 but still the mags are just as fast and more reliable and accurate. Dont get bitten, you will go broke.

Look at post 149. This is the kind of thing that happens when you get in to mags. Well all of those didn't belong to one person but many of them were one of the mags owned. I remember when I first bought a Classic valved Minimag.... now i have 7 in different levels of completion. Just play with it for a bit you'll get the hang of it.

Hahaha MAG FEVER! He isn't joking, your wallet will hate you.. a few parts here and a few parts there, you have your mag where you want it... THEN You have all these extra parts.. might as well build another functional mag with the parts.. leaving MORE leftover parts.. Which can't just sit around.. Its a vicious cycle, be careful

an x valve and a high pressure tank (adjustable or otherwise) and you can get that thing shooting fast. Whether or not it's tournament legal is another question.

You have to ask yourself this: how fast do I need to shoot and what rules do I need to adhere to? (Mags can go just about any speed depending on how you set them up.)

If you just need to get it up to around 10-11 bps, a simple ULT upgrade might be just the thing. (Softens the trigger to about a 16 oz. pull.)

If you need more speed than that, there are A LOT of options. Many just go for the RT effect by using an RT on/off with a high-output tank. At around 1000psi input many Mags will get into the 20bps range and beyond. But this may not be legal at the fields you attend.

Personally, I went the Pneumag route (pneumatics in the frame make the trigger fully walkable like an electro.) This wasn't particularly difficult to do myself, and I now have a mechanical gun that can be walked as fast as my electro, doesn't chop paint, and is legal at just about any field I'll ever attend. (Plus, if I turn down the Lpr pressure, it will achieve the RT effect and do about 18bps ...more pressure and it turns back into a true semi.)

Alright, alright. Some of you guys are talking about ULT's and the RT effect. The OP said he bought a '68 Mag for $100. Chances are, it does not have an RT valve.
