Emag project Finally done (Before and After pics)

I have slowly been building a Frankenstein Emag. When I finished with it it looked horrible, nothing matched and it did not fire. I knew I had to go all O.J. Simpson and form a dream team.... This is how far I got with it:

I'm pretty good with mags, but something was messed up with the electronics, and it would not shoot. I did everything I could to get it to work, but gave up and sent it out.

Its first stop was to Lukes customs (http://www.lukescustoms.com/) for a full CNC milling job. I had the full ultra light milling, and battery pack milled. Luke had a lightning fast turn around, he apologized that it took so much longer than normal because it was the first run of the CNC machine (overall time he had it in his possession was 1 week).

From there Luke sent it out to thefool for anodizing (http://www.topazanodizing.com/). I'm the least artistic person you will ever meet so when he asked me what I wanted I told him "Surprise me". I told him that I played in the woods a bgit so I'd be happy with anything that was not really bright (like pink). I also told him I was a fan of acid wash. I have had him anodize stuff for me before and it usually takes about three weeks, but this one took him a bit longer. Overall time he had it was 5 weeks.

Finally thefool shipped it out to BigEvil (http://www.bigevilonline.com/) for the re-install of everything, and a much needed tune up. He had great communication through the whole thing, and had it shipped back to my door in no time. Overall turn around time 5 days.

The marker is awesome, and is finally shooting the way a Emag should (if not a little better). I owe a big thanks to all those guys who worked on the gun for a seamless process.

My only complaint is that the marker out shoots my pinokio a little too easy. I'm not saying that this is BigEvil's fault and that he should buy me a faster hopper, but it would be the right thing for him to do ). Although it is not a problem, I thought I was good at tuning the LVL 10, but whatever Bigevil did was magic, I have never felt it so soft. I pinched a ton of Evil paint (ironic?) and did not chop a single one.

    Final Results:

I know I can't take a good pic to save my life, the gun looks much better in person.
Thanks again to all that helped!
If I make it to Tunaball 6 I'll bring some beers for the dream team

sweet. Although I'm surprised to hear you say you're out shooting it, pinokio has an upgraded board that'll fix your feed problems.

I'm pretty conservative out on the field, so I really don't need the extra speed. The only time I out shoot it is when I get a new toy like this and try to see what it can do.

Love it. Everyone did a great job by the sounds and looks of it. I second the notion for a shooting video.

              Stellar mag.

I'll be playing with it this Weekend, and just got a head cam, so I't should be a good angle of it shooting. Our video's are posted on Social Paintball's website and youtube channel (under The Duck Squad). I'll be sure to post the link up here though so everyone can see it.

I really like that anno design. That is a nice looking emag you have there.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

The IT body looks sweet with the E-mag lowers and the anno.

That's what I was thinking. ITs in black don't show their features well IMO.

It's a shame Mike Quinn didnt design a matching rail when he did the bodies.

Very nice. I have a general guestion maybe someone can advise. I see people on a lot of occassions having their barrel kit fronts anoed to match their markers. How does this affect performance? I would think that when barrels are anoed at the factory that they would be polished or honed afterwards to insure a nice smooth finish. Does the anodizing process cause any issues for the fronts? I sent a bunch of backs out last year to be stripped, polished and cleared, but they werent vented so they could be corked. What do you guys do with the fronts? Are they just for show?

The anno will take the finish of the metal.. highly polished metal = gloss anno, blasted metal = dust. So if the inside of the barrel is nice and polished the new anno will be too as long as nothing changes that.

The working part of the freak is the back, which is an insert anyhow and not affected. The ball stops accelerating once it gets to the porting... so the bore in the front doesnt effect the shot as much as you would think.

Right, but thought if the inside was rough it would have an effect. I guess as long as whoever is doing the anodizing polished the inside properly, it will be kosher.

                              Thanks.
