Yes, you need to clarify whether you mean actually bore out a barrel for inserts, or bore out a barrel to a larger id.
We used to use 12 gauge shotgun barrel hones to enlarge our barrels back in the late 80's and early 90's when paint was large bore and barrels were tighter because of closed bolt ball roll out issue that pumps have. Quite often the barrels were too tight and accuracy suffered so we honed them out. Many thought the accuracy increased because of the smoothing of the bore, but it was the enlarging of the bore so that the balls barely touched in two spots opposite each other that made the difference.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

Use a 12 gauge barrel hone to enlarge by a few thousandths.Originally posted by 2BAD4UANS thundr pig 9". its .0689, i want .0691 or .0692...
Edit: I fell into the decimal trap but the result is still the same. The 12 gauge barrel hone is the way to go.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
