"Weak" only in the sense of a low number of entries, right?

How about rolling the winner into next month's Classic MOTM too? That way there might be a full field.

As for rolling it to next month, I wouldn't do it. You face the competition you got and, if you win, it will go on the 2011's MOTY as well. There you will face some real competition!

I'm cool with that. I hadn't seen that we were going to do a MOTY before posting my last post (but have since helped spurr the topic). That would be a guaranteed full field of competition. Sounds fun!

This is still a very young competition this month though. I'm taking nothing for granted.

I do like the blackout scheme you put together, river. I'm sure the picture doesn't do the marker justice at all. It's hard to photograph black. Flash or no flash? Natural light or artificial?
