Flag Wars in Rome, GA. IT RULED!

Today I finally limped home after a great weekend of paintball at Scenario Paintball Games in Rome, Gerogia. The name of the game was Flag Wars... it's been going on for a while so I suppose a lot of you guys already know about it.

The majority of the field is wooded... and when I say "wooded," I mean it's a forest, NOT some nasty briar thicket that would stop anything larger than a bunny rabbit from moving around, and NOT some swampy mudhole to give you a case of athlete's foot... it's a nice mixture of pines and deciduous/hardwood forest. There are very nice bunkers built here and there, along with your typical makeshift forts (palates/doors/etc.) that you see at most woodsball fields. There is a layer of scattered and fairly thin undergrowth which makes it possible to sneak if you stay low. (ie. You can elbow crawl to flank someone.) Some parts are thicker than others, but overall I'd say 90% of the forest is playable. Many of the other fields I've been to for scenario games just can't say this. In most places, it's more like 25% playable and 75% bunny rabbit playground. If you like playing in the woods, this place is GREAT.

The open urban combat areas are freakin' sweet as well. The structures are solid and playble, but not impregnable.

There were lots of cool people there to hang out with. The guys from Backwoods (Robert, Chris, et.al.), 5x5, Code 3, Evo X, as well as my own band of misfits, The Rebel Force Pirates. Death, Inc., in particular, stood out to me as a very polished and effective group of players. So far as I know we all more or less got along and a large time was had by all.

I had MUCH more fun at Flag Wars than I've had at the other two scenario games I've been to. I will, from this day forth, encourage everyone to make the trip there whenever possible. I will be making this post on the other websites, and that's for the benefit of people like me who haven't been playing very long who want to have a really good experience when they go to a scenario game (or at the very least, play on a really great field).
Working...
