Played with my pump Mag during the "Pump and Pistol" session at LL5 and had fun. Would have been more so had the paint not been crap and every other shot hadnt come spraying out of my barrel like shotgun pellet, but still a good time. Don't think I am ready to take up pump permanently, but was a nice change of pace.
One thing I did notice was that a lot of the pumps out there had autotriggers. Honestly, with as fast as some of those guys were able to shoot those things, it didn't seem like they had any disadvantage over a mechanical semi like a 98C. I think a lot of those guys were putting out more paint per second than I was every able to acheive with a stock 98.
I also came to the conclusion that CCM pumps are sexy. Good thing I am on somewhat of a paintball marker buying sabatical or our bank account would be several hundred dollars lighter within the next week or two.
This is what I was using:
It now actually have a CF MM body. The valve is capped and I tried using it with the devolumizers, but found it was impossible to get the FPS over the mid 200's using the BL reg. Perhaps with a higher output reg it would have been possible, but its what I had and since I wasnt going to use 12g's it didnt seem like it was worth the effort. Figured trying to fiddle with 12g's on my first outing might be too much of a pain. FYI, with 12g's I was able to use the devolumizers and could get the FPS needed with under 600psi input to the valve.
One thing I did notice was that in trying to use the Winchester 50rd hopper that the balls did not feed particularly well. Whe I took it off, I found that ball often times stuck in the top of the feedneck. Is this common for this hopper? Is there a better small hopper on the market? I have seen Sport Shots before, but no idea how good they are. I saw a lot of people using Rotors, but I doubt the detents on my MM body would be able to keep it from double feeding on a forcefed hopper.
Not really sure of the reason on this post, but just felt like sharing I guess.
