I know I dont post up much on here being a newbie and all. I mainly swoop in to grab a part or two and sit back and watch the forum banter. I dont own too many markers and only have one Mag so not much I can offer but I do enjoy mainly absorbing the great content that is on this site.
This is my latest and greatest acquisition / build of the newly released Avratech R7 marker.
More information can be found here on this Nelson based beauty:
This build would also not possible if it wasnt for Alpha434 / Chris on MCB who was able to execute on my ideas:
Basically this started off as a fascination that lead to a dream that was executed upon. There is one main theme and a few sub-themes for want of a word. I wanted to create a FSR-only platform that I would love to play with. One that is mobile, not too cumbersom, efficient and a lot of fun to play with.
However, this project only really clicked when I saw a MCB Member's BST thread with the pictures of the "naked" AV-R7. Upon seeing his pictures, I realized that this was the perfect platform to pull off the Megatron look and yet make it look real steel in nature. So I went unto several gun sites and began downloading several pictures to do research on this Luger / Ruger / Similar "look" (even though G1 Megatron wasnt based off of a Luger / Ruger). But given that I didnt want to tap the body itself to fit a red dot on I was also influenced by grip-rail mounts that Aimtech manufactured. Slap on a 3x fixed zoom red dot, the Magnifi iPhone apparatus (for long distance FS video recording http://www.arcturuslabs.com/), airsoft Raffica folding stock you had in your paintball inventory for 3 years and a Carter Whoosh barrel and you get this pc:
Before the grip-rail-mount is coated, comparing it to G1 Megatron:
After grip-rail coating:
Burris scope + Magnifi:
View through the scope as seen on the iphone:

So this what she looks like currently. Whats left? Just a few more minor detail oriented stuff.
1) For starters, I still need to fix the Magnifi contraption. Currently it works but its not at the optima setting. As it is mounted I am losing the 3x capabilities for something that is ~1+x. I am sending that out this weekend for a optical machinist to create an adapter to back out the Magnifi a smidge to get the optimal range for this particular scope.
2) Jewelling all stainless steel parts - Freak insert, bolt, hammer and trigger
3) Getting some custom grip to put over the grip-rail-mount. As it is now, its comfortable but I want to add grips on there to protect the set-up as is.
4) Fluted hammer is en route
5) Holographic sticker / jewel to replace the purple one on the back
6) A smaller length barrel (12" vs 14") with flutes and a bigger Whoosh tip (1.5"OD vs 1.25
OD).
7) A lil creative (not sure how that is going to look yet) Decepticon steel badge I am going to tap so that the screw before the breech can be inserted into and make that area look "clean".
8) A case to store everything R7 in... including the accessories that I am not using at the moment like the soon to be released CA adapter, the Duckbox kit, other barrel options and CO2 etc. etc.
So that's it. I hope you enjoy and maybe I will have a Mag related post soon / someday lol.
Have a great weekend!
