Is the 68 automag loseing its prestige?

I've been playing with my classic for a little over a year now and I always hear people bad mouthing it half of them relatively new players with cockers or Bushies and when they shoot it they are amazed I found the problem is store and feild owners who tell people coming from a spyder that they don't want an automag and telling them how "bad" they are and all these tourny players that push thier team mates to "get rid of that old thing" they all seem to forget how long the mag has been around and how well it preforms people like John Rice of WDP had it as thier first semi so why the bad rap and what can we do to change it.

I would suggest letting people shoot your mag as much as possible, so they can see for themselves how magical it can be. Other than that, people decide what gun to get for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the most we can do is show them the errors of their foolish and misguided ways...

Heck yeah. I let an average of 12 or so mess with my mag when I play. I always get the "That''s the sweetest Mag I've ever shot..." or whatever. I even had one guy tell me that "I may have to buy another mag, I miss my old one." It's great. I also always spend the extra $$ to get all day air so I can help market AGD stuff by lettig people play with my mag (and their paint).

So Tom, I think you owe me a couple hundred dollars (or an E-Mag for the couple of years worth of FREE marketing I've been doing. J/K

The mag isn't new anymore.. and despite it still being one rocking marker, the shine has worn off and people dont' like it anymore. Let's hope the e-mag brings the shine back ;-)

The Classic is now "a Mudder". For those who wonder what the heck I am talking about I am talking equestrian terminology. Still don't know? OK then...Horses. Race Horses to be exact. A Mudder is one that is always running but when the conditions get bad it still running the same speed but still running. Often used to denote something that just keep plugging along the same no matter what. Not too shabby being a Mudder at all. Consistent and dependable is its style. All we got to do to make it all "new" again and appreciated is to...dress that mudder up!

                Agree

I agree with skipdogg let people shoot your mag take it apart and show them how easy it is to maintain. Tell them about the upgrades and how it comes from a great company.

6 years ago when i started playing the mag was talked down about. it was one of the best 2 guns then and was still talked down about. i love my mags but i cant remember them ever being the "in" gun.
Sorry for the spelling. Im still working on it.

I feel like my Mag sucks...Honestly. I shot a Minimag about 5 years ago and was blown away by it. Now that I just got my Automag last week, Im not as impressed as I thought I would be. Maybe its the paint/barrel or cold... but Im not happy with it right now. :/

hemlock86 I love my mag and find that people that don't like theirs don't like it due to one upgrade aftermarket that hurts the hole gun one kid was complaining that his chopped paint when he shot fast it was cause he had a benchy on it and he complained that the "range was poor" I had to explain that range is related to velocity not gun and he didn't believe me another thing that hurts the mags preformance is CO2 if you still use it get nitro you will be amazed

Actually I think the 68 classic expecially a non-power feed gets talked down here. Which e-mag is the bast is one of the most common questions. Of how fast can the RT cycle. I have a standard feed 68 and cannot outshoot it. I break maybe one ball a day and it is up and running every time I need it. My old standard feed classic may be talked down but at least it has a cool paintjob.

My brother and myself both have regular 68 classic mags. We have had them for over 3 years now and we love them. The only thing ill say that made me mad before is when i had a happy trigger finger that would crack balls in the standard feed. That and with CO2 the thing shoots variably. I now have nitro and my brother quit playing so i have his old gun. The things are just damn reliable and i often find myself dominating the field in walk-ons(do to my fast foot speed )as long as I can control my rate of fire, need to upgrade to that powerfeed but can't find a place that sells just the regular gray ones, icky black and polished .

Mag's are #1!!! Anyone who tells you differently lobs balls from the back.

                              no way

After years of shooting spyders and other various markers from say wgp, I've finally ordered a mag powerfeed. A local field actually used these as their standard marker and I fell in love with it instantly. I hope to use it for years and years... no if only the damn UPS guy would get here.
I've come to chew bubble gum and kick @ss... And I'm all out of bubble gum.
