How difficult would it be to dedicate a header to the mag of the month winner, rotating the new winner in every month? Might be cool to see new stuff rotate in.

I've been toying around with this idea. Its hard to actually make the paintball marker look right with height of 72px. I could make the header larger, but I don't really feel like editing the CSS and templates again.

My other idea was to include a "MotM Winner" badge/rank instead.

How about one for each MotM category, with the month and date? Also MotY? One that never disappears.

Lol... if we include the date there will be a few users who have so many badges we wont be able to read threads they post in without scrolling for hours! i would think a single MOTM badge that eventually gets replaced by a MOTY badge (if you win) would be the way to go!

The banner stuff is pretty easy - dump all the images into a folder and let the forum pick it up at random.

The small Mag of the Month badge thing would be a WHOLE lot harder. You have to set up a rank for each icon, have a different icon for every month/year combo and have a mod add it to the winner(s) every month.

There are a few ways to approach this. You could either create a MOTM usergroup with that Badge Icon and add winners every month. OR, how about having the image of the winning markers appear somewhere in the banner with that badge? Either would be a cool little added bonus to winning. Plus I think it is a good idea to showcase our best looking markers to the people who are either new to mags or who are just browsing the site.
