    Paintball in XGames

This is what i would love to see! National televised paintball tournament. I know about the ESPN - World Cup incident, but seeing PB in the XGames would make anyone with the desire of paintball to go.

Even if its not ESPN, why not TNN, or someone else. Surely, companies like AGD, WORR, JT, Diablo, and others wouldn't sponser a national televised tournament.

    Just a though...

ESPN has already stated that they wont do paintball. Why not look into Fox Sports?

There is a double edged sword with tekevised tourneys. Before mainstream television, I think tourneys need to be cleaned up a little. Both with the cheating and the language and attitude.

if people see cheating or fights, or bad attitudes, they will think we are all violent and it will fuel the fire of "paintball is bad"

        Just my 2 cents

          Fox

Fox Sports would be a good idea. Even if it was only on Fox Sports Net. I wonder how we could get a hold of them.

          Anyone have ideas??

So what happened with ESPN? I saw some of the tourney, not all of it. That was a while back.

Not that many ppl watched it so they stoped. I actually saw it too. At first it was exciting to watch pb on the teli. But later it became boring due to the cramera angles. Also something is that board me the most was that the teams didn't move much, all they did was spray and pray. Some other problems were that I had no idea what was going on at all. For like ten minutes they showed a guy shooting like a whole case of paint at a board trying to mark somebody on the other side. It seemed very boring. That's just my opinioned of it. Rather play myself than watch it.

                The problem is....

There isn't any paintball to PUT on TV right now. No one wants to broadcast "pro" paintball because the athletes can't behave themselves, and there's no way for the audience to relate to the teams. Being on TV coud be very nice, but as it stands, paintball isn't producing a product to broadcast.

Give college paintball another year or so and I think we'll be there, or maybe someone will come along and set up a pro league that can better deal with the problems facing NPPL, or NPPL will take action and fix itself.

college ball is actually what will break it open i think. College rivalrys are great for this.

NPPL's problem I think is that the foxes are guarding the hens. In other words, the people that make the products are making the rules. There needs to be an unbiased rules commitee. And no rule changed in mid season, unless its a safety issue.

Sponsors need to take accountability for the teams behavior. If they mess up or fight, then they need to lose sponsorship or get fined. Its simple. Hit them where it counts THE WALLET!

If you can put Theo Fleury on national TV, then you can put up with any pro paintball antics.

ESPN wont show paintball because of a lawsuit, I believe.

i love paintball. it is my favorite hobby/sport. That said, I wouldnt watch it. It's just one of those things, to me, that is fun to do, and boring to watch. Especially, since, at first, there would probably be no big money sponsers, which means low budgets, which means it wouldnt have the chance to MAKE it interesting. Also, I really dont care about pro teams/players, so the prospect of watching famous teams compete wouldnt get me to watch it either. Paintball just isnt really a spectator sport. But, for the sake of those who would watch it, I hope it does happen.

there is a big post on this somwhere. i think it might have been a deep blue topic? it shows how pb cannot be in the x-games and on tv. some of the points are reffing, bad sportsmanship, boring games, and past legal matters.
