the hopper actually had too much pressure on the stack not letting the ball drop into the barrel

Powerfeed with the old style PF plug?

If so, I could see how that might happen.

    Any more details?

I've run into this issue before with my classic rt.

The old style pf plugs had a little flat spot that the ball would rest on sometimes when there was enough force on the ball stack, and it would just sit there rather than turn the corner into the breech. AGD redesigned the plugs to have a little ramp instead of the flat. First thing I would recommend is to check to see if your pf plug is the old or new style.

You need the 'parabolic' feed plug. I had the same problem.
