If you did not care about having a front foregrip, how short can you make a rail? what about a body? I know people cut down ule body to be flush with the rail, but can you cut the body even shorter, down to where the threads start?
How short can a rail and body be made???

well, for the rail, i would think that you can take the rail down to the front of the frame. you could go deeper, to at least the body/frame screw, but that would look silly. if you don't have a Z lock pin, you could take it almost up to the valve screw.
for the body, you can take the front down to before the threads. i wouldn't go any further, unless you have a tap to chase the threads. the rear, that is well documented in where it needs to be.
i am no expert, and those "dimensions" i gave are just guesstimates.

From my experience the micromag is the smallest setup you can make/get with normal market parts. "Nobody" is correct with the info regarding normal rails and ULE bodies.
Here is my capped Micro:

No the smallest production Micro is the Gen 1 like mine here

The smallest mag I have ever seen was TimmyJay's McFly setup here:

There might be a spot between the sear slot and front screw hole that could be ULE pocketed. Luke's work.

One of these with a carbon fiber frame, carbon fiber body, and an x-valve would be kind of funny.Last edited by Spider-TW; 02-10-2014, 02:15 PM.
